The well known game review site 'The Escapist' is holding a March Madness single elimination tournament of Game Developers and Firaxis is paired against Bungie in the second round. Show your support for Firaxis and the great studio that creates the greatest games ever made. Firaxis is also run by some of the best people in the business like Sid Meier and several Apolyton members like Jon Shaffer and Alex Mantzaris, I should know I had the opportunity to work by their side on Civ4:Colonization.
Register if you have to (those Zero Punctuation reviews are well worth it) and vote in this thread, Firaxis is currently trailing by a few percent, tell your friends to vote too and we can turn this around.
Companions the creator seeks, not corpses, not herds and believers. Fellow creators, the creator seeks - those who write new values on new tablets. Companions the creator seeks, and fellow harvesters; for everything about him is ripe for the harvest. - Thus spoke Zarathustra, Fredrick Nietzsche

He also hates Texans and Australians, he does diversify." ~ Braindead
What has Firaxis done for me lately, aside from addict me to Civ IV?
Christianity: The belief that a cosmic Jewish Zombie who was his own father can make you live forever if you symbolically eat his flesh and telepathically tell him you accept him as your master, so he can remove an evil force from your soul that is present in humanity because a rib-woman was convinced by a talking snake to eat from a magical tree...
I don't think Friaxis should get votes after the BTS patch and Colonization fiascos. So I'd vote for Bungie too.
Firaxis won't get my support until they give me SMAC II
I dont know Bungie, and Civ 4 was a complete embarrassment with over-hyped expansions and game breaking bugs throughout the entire release of the title.
So im not voting for either.
Huck Falo, but I'm not gonna bother registering and all that jazz.
Sorry, The Fiery Axis of Repetitivity hasn't done anything good since SMAC.
I voted for Firaxis. But who outside the Industry has heard of all these studios?
And indeed there will be time To wonder, "Do I dare?" and, "Do I dare?". t s eliot
Sorry. Stewart Spink and Yo_Yo_Yo_Yo_Hey are still under their lifetime bans, and some of us don't forget.
God this is like being forced to choose between my children. Smac and Civ 4 on the one hand, Marathon, Pathways into Darkness, Myth 1&2 and Oni on the other. God. I guess I'll have to go with Bungie because Myth 2 was just SO strong.
"mono has crazy flow and can rhyme words that shouldn't, like Eminem"
"get contacts, get a haircut, get better clothes, and lose some weight"
Bungie > Firaxis
QFT. I haven't played a Firaxis game in years.
Marathon was nice, or so I hear.
I've allways wanted to play "Russ Meyer's Civilization"
To Mac players, both those games were AMAZING. Proving how unfortunate it was to be a Mac gamer.
Bungie are ok as a company, but I hated the whole Halo-boy attitude and "Master Commander" has a cheesy ring to it, especially with that silly green suit of his. Crysis had a much nicer suit, though, "Maximum Power" was cheesy. Crysis was a better game.
As for Firaxis, they lost the plot somewhere, Brian R, realised this i'm sure, whatever happened to him anyway? Haven't really heard any new games coming.
If Firaxis wants to get back into the field, they need to start making rock-solid, polished games, like Blizzard. This is where Firaxis belong, but they failed to continue climbing that ladder.
Their only hope now is SMAC II. I agree with above. Completely new team, new engine, new everything, polish it, make it amazing, then Firaxis can stand on the podium.
I won't be voting for either, they both suck.
"Master Commander" has a cheesy ring to it
Probably a good thing the character isn't named that, then...
Master Chief then
Should've been Master Chef.
One of the funniest threads I've seen in a while.
Doesn't buying their games count as supporting a company?
