    Quest for Glory turn tracking thread

    This is the turn tracking thread for the SMAC game "Quest for Glory". Game setup rules can be found here .

    Turnage is as follows:

    Gaians - guillaume70
    Hive - florin79c
    University - Martti
    Morganites - bDanv
    Spartans - Bodissey
    PKs - Marky


    Notes: I've debated over the last few days as far as how to present this game. After much discussion with myself I've decided on the following:

    1) Everyone gets 7 Unity Pods on their starting land masses.
    2) Everyone gets 1 sensor at their starting location.
    3) Everyone gets 1 Sea Monolith to start with.
    4) Everyone is on their own from here!

    @darsnan: i have a few questions... does everyone's unity pods have same contents? and whats the deal with the sea monolith? also, approximately how much % of the planets surface is covered in fungus?

    I think your mixing up Unity Pods with Colony Pods. Everyone has 2 colony pod units to start with, and everyone has 7 Unity Pods scattered around their starting landmasses.

    The results from popping a Unity Pod are completely random. Note that if you pop a pod within a base radius, you typically don't get a fungal pop, NL, or earthquakes.

    In regards to the sea monoliths: there are a few of these scattered around the map. If you park a naval unit onto it, you get the choice to upgrade it. Naval units can also be repaired on sea monoliths. If you park a transport on top of the sea monolith and then load in land-based military units, you get the option to upgrade the land units as well. In general my opinion is that the game lacks in aquatic enhancements, so I have added a few for this game. Note that there are several underwater volcanoes in this game as well.

    As to the percentage of fungus: I started with a random map which I set up with average NL. Does this answer your question?

    Please note that guillaume70 just brought to my attention an issue with the game. I am going to have to re-generate the game and re-send the starting turn to guillaume70. When you do get your turn, please ensure that your starting techs and Factional social settings are correct.

    Yes, there are Unity Pods scattered all over the map. The only reason I referenced the number of Unity Pods was to ensure people were aware that everyone got a balanced starting position, down to the number of pods each player started with on their initial land masses.

    I seem to be starting with Talents, which is not supposed to happen until I reach 4 pop. But I am content to continue

    2102 to Gaians

    I did not seem to need to Mac to PC converter. I was able to save just fine.

    The incoming turn did get shuffled to my spam box. I get thousands of real spam messages, but only about 70 get filtered. One of the few messages I was looking for got moved. Grrr...

    I'm very interested in the Mac to PC issue (it was my Mac in ACDG3 that triggered the creation of the first version of the converter).

    Could you tell me which Windows operating system you use?

    It has been awhile since I played Peacekeepers. I was not sure about the Talent issue, so I started a new game. Sure enough, the Peacekeepers start with a Talent. So it is not an issue with the startup for this particular game, since it happens for any new game.

    Is this supposed to happen, Peacekeepers starting with a talent? I did not think so, but now I am not sure.
