I'll be going away for Christmas tomorrow for a couple or maybe a few weeks. I've emailed both of my opponents. I should have internet access but probably not CtP access, so this is in case anyone challenges me.

We are leaving early on 26th of December for a week + in Washington DC, same, sporadic access to internet but no CTP, have notified both my opponents.

Merry late Christmas to everyone

I've been offline due to system crash for over two weeks but I'm back online though I'll have a couple of days off again for setting up Windows and software from the scratch.

Regarding cheating I had created long time ago a set of rules known as PBEM Rules, the older ones might remember these. There is a section discussing what is considered a cheat.

Regarding my upcomming game with BirdMan, I'll set it up soon, I just was unable to do so for the above mentioned reason.

I don't think EPW or Prince Bolkonsky have posted on the new challenge ladder . . . so you might have to move up a couple more rungs to get some challenges.

Back now. I emailed both my opponents too.

BTW is it bad form to reject a challenge because I only want 2 games running? It hasn't happened yet, but perhaps if it does... I play games pretty fast (last game was 82 turns and completed in 17 days, thanks to hornedfrog also being fast), and I think focusing on more would just slow them all down. And can get boring if a game goes too slow.

I think that's reasonable. But perhaps you can say you 'postpone' the challenge until one of your other matches is done. That way people can 'line-up' to challenge you and you can take them on as your time allows.

Actually, TheBirdMan had some bad land so he conceded at turn 39. So we swapped sides with the same map to see if I could do any better. My number two spot may be very short-lived!

Milamber isn't active anymore. Going up from him, the next couple active people are Ricketyclick and Cuaich.

Update on my ladder matches: Cuaich is currently wreaking his vengeance for my initial win against him, but I've still got a lot of fight left in me and I haven't given up hope! In my game against Maquiladora, on the other hand, hope is only a dim glimmer that is fading quickly in the distance. I think my best hope at this point is my game against Quinn, which is nothing short of an amazing turn around. I went from death's door to my current state of being on somewhat equal footing (unless he's got some other nasty surprises waiting in the wings that I don't know about).

I'm surprised I was able to get so far ahead in tech. Hopefully I can keep it that way long enough.

Me and HornedFrog started a dual game with two quite different starts, should be interesting.

I'm glad to see the dual-duel format being used more often. I believe these types of games are the fairest matches. Starting terrain can make a huge difference (as you all know) and the dual-duel completely evens that out.

We had to scrap the game because HF accidentally played one of my turns (and sent me his turn

), so we just started a new normal game.

The way I set it up was confusing because we each played as both players, so the names would alternate with each save. And we were sending both turns in each email, so it can be confusing, especially if you forget to delete any turns you downloaded. I couldn't think of a better way to set it up at the time.

How do you set up a dual-dual game quinns?
