PolyCast Episode 48: "Orange Jello's Just Too Powerful"

Its green counterpart doesn't stand a chance even with pineapple. Putting that and other points into context is the charge of the panel on the forty-eighth episode of PolyCast, featuring returning guest co-host Costas "Keygen" and first-timer Lance "Lancer" Gross. Regular co-hosts Daniel "DanQ" Quick and Makahlua with Annalee "Cartimandua" Barney are also present. Entitled "Orange Jello's Just Too Powerful", it runs for 44m59s in length. Ken "Carch" Baudicher is also present as the interviewee.

An official podcast of Apolyton Civilization Site (ACS), PC is a bi-weekly audio production of ACS is an ongoing effort to give the Civ community an interactive voice on game strategy; its sibling show ModCast focuses on Civ modding. To date, ACS is the only known community on the Web to produce its own Civ podcasts.

I actually care about what economy civic the AI has. If they have Enviromentalism or Free Market, I am less likely to attack them since I can spread my corporation to them. I am even less likely to attack an Enviro nation since their economy is more damaged by the corp than that of a Free Market nation. I am more likely to attack State Property or Mercantilistic nations since I can't spread my corp to them.

Edit: Does anyone else think that sounds at all like a Corporate Dictatorship?

Would you be even more likely to attack a nation that once allowed your corporation to spread, and you did so, but with an economic civics change on their part those branches' effects are now nullified?

Does anyone else think that sounds at all like a Corporate Dictatorship?

    Ode to Polycast

My iPods a mix of many tunes
Linken Park, Mozart and some cartoons
On shuffle a random mix may play
Kermit the Frog, Snoop Dog and Cirque du Soleil
    Or 99 luftwaffe balloons

But never is my iPod so fine
As when there’s a new Polycast online
All the other bands must wait
    On each Polycast release date
In my queue they all fall far behind

I look cool running in my gym
Short shorts on, ear plugs plugged in
But little do the others know
That I’m not rocking as I go
    I’m listening to Polycast again

    DanQ may sometimes be whiney
    Occasionally off track or tiny
    Much like our own Napoleon
    On a moose and Canadian
Always in search of something shiny

I must admit Cartimanduas my fav
It’s her laugh that really makes my day
Without it the show seems so dry
    It makes my spearman fortify
She always has good things to say

    I can’t understate this enough
Thank you Maki, from all of us
Her job is done to perfection
Keep Dan from singing, no exceptions!
And give the show the Makahlua touch

    Seriously, thanks to everyone
For everything you guys have done
It’s enjoyed more than you know
Around the world your crazy show
Keep them coming and having fun

    NOT!!

I may be no poet, but I know what I like. That poem was almost as good as Polycast, with truth, beauty & humor besides! I enjoyed it.

The main problem with Polycast is unavoidable. It often reviews threads and issues that I have already gone over, so rarely does anything in it strike me to comment on it.

    And where is my verse

    This, Sir, is a lie.
The following are just some of the words that rhyme with siddiqi:

cheeky, creaky, freaky, geeky, leaky, sneaky, squeaky.

More importantly, I enjoyed the poem greatly. The show is a lot of fun, and I certainly count myself among its fans.

On a future episode, the poem will be recited.

    Please.

Hopefully by someone who is skilled at reciting poetry. Even if it has to be contracted out.

Don't worry, my husband laughed, he thinks it's funny. (But he also wants me to tell you that if you were an internet perv, he would kill you)

Hey, how did you know I have a lamp in between my bed and the window?

By the way, I finally got around to listening to this episode while I was at work today. It made me laugh, and there were a lot of things I don't remember saying... Anyway, I've decided that we are pretty funny.
