There's another game where we've played together before Flubber. A head to head game. Can't remember where we stalled exactly, but you were the Drones to my Uni, and things were...interesting, to say the least. I do love the Drones-- probably my favorite faction to play and absolutely the opposite of the university in how the game plays out

I actually looked back at old threads and found that we probably set that game up in 2003 as a random map PBEM-- It was part of a type of tourney that was set up. I didn't find a turn thread so I do not know how far we got but there was talk of that game being in progress-- I have no recollection if I was winning or losing or if the start had shafted one of us particularly badly




It was funny since I also found my retirement thread from 2004

Lets see-- archaic is researching at over 3 times my rate and producing energy at about 4 times my rate-- has the EG (so permanent infiltration-- I hate that SP-- ruins the probe infiltration battle --oh well) and all the drone quelling SPs. He has more population, crawlers and formers and we are playing a map where "rushing the builder" is not really feasible.



Also-- my predecessor built all his back side bases inland but adjacent to where the best ports could go-- Why would anyone build ports on the outer exposed side and then build everything on the back side (which can be much more easily protected) inland-- ? Those back side ocean tiles are DESIGNED as a pretty safe trawling area so why not create an early port to take advantage of that? ITs not that I would have trawlers yet but in assessing my long term chances, this doesn't help.

So lets say don't keep playing this one on my account-- (but I will play as long as anyone sees a point)

I could commit-- I should be able to play a turn a day through the early stages but it might drop to every second day when turns get longer ( my speed should actually be pretty good since they no longer block "external email" at work). I actually wouldn't mind playing the vets map again from scratch although part of me enjoys a game where exploration is a factor too

I was wondering what had happened to the turn. Didn't realise it'd been quite this long since I saw it though. ^^;;; Checked my junk mail inbox, and there it was. I'm guessing it was because the turn was simply sent as a .sav instead of being zipped, but I don't know for sure.

In any case....bdanv, could I have a resend please? It appears that you sent me your own turn prior to your login, rather than the completed turn waiting for my login. ^^;
