Sweet! I'm liking the looks of this.
If you don't want to remember the IP address, you can always just tell Civ to connect to "pitboss.rustytel.net" without the quotes instead.
I am going to initiate automatic nightly backups of the Pitboss server as of tonight; I plan to keep them around for 3-4 days each. So if something dies, please notify me ASAP so I can pull out a good restore.
4000BC played here.
Will PitBoss email us all once everyone has finished the turn, or do we just need to log in and check?

Excellent! Good luck chappiesAnd thanks Keygen

If I got it right PitBoss will email all players that have entered an email address in their details after all have played the turn or 48 hours have past, what ever comes first.

I'm pleased to anounce the founding of Timbuktu.
Enjoy!

After months walking through this endless world of snow, the sign given by Queztalcoatl to highest priest berX of Aztlan is reached. Some land without snow and ice and a lake were some fishes are jumping... finally the promised land is here...
Tenochtitlan was found on a very small land sorrounded only by ice. Let's the word of our gods let us grow in prosperity.

It seems like Nuke Boy haven't played his turn yet...

I got an email from him this morning saying he got an "incorrect version" error when he tried to connect. He may need to update to v1.61, disable addons, or if those fail, uninstall and reinstall Civ4 on his computer and repatch.

It's been several hours since his last email. I just saved the latest turn in case we need it.
BTW, how come every time I remotely connect to DrDeke's machine my taskbar is messed up?![]()

Yeah, I emailed him again but I haven't heard from him. What do you mean exactly when you say the taskbar is messed up? It should stay the same from session to session. (When you are finished, just close the remote desktop session, don't "log off". But as far as I can tell, that's already how you're doing it.)

I have dragged my taskbar to contain two lines instead of the default one due to the large amount of shortcuts I use in the quick launch in addition with a program to better handle these shortcuts (true launch bar). I am not sure if it is that program or remote desktop connetion that colapses the two lines into one messing with my shortcuts when I connect to your machine.
Perhaps you could simply drag your taskbar up to two lines and let me know if it will occur to you? I'm just qurious if it's me![]()

Hmm. I tried resizing my taskbar to 2 lines on both my administrator account and a regular test account, and it worked fine. The taskbar stayed 2 lines when I reconnected to the session later.
Maybe it would help if, after resizing and rearranging the taskbar, you right-click the taskbar and turn on the "Lock the Taskbar" option?
Let me know if that makes any difference.

Thanks for helping out DrDeke
Unfortunatelly it does not work for me, I guess true launch bar or some other software is causing the problem.
Nuke Boy seems to have played his turn so you may all play the next turn. However I have not received a notification email from PitBoss. Let me know if you have not received it as well.

Turn 2 (3950 BC) played.

I'm timing out when I try to connect...

I did not get an email notification either. I suspect that Civ4 isn't getting along with the authentication required by the SMTP server that I told Keygen to use.
If you (keygen) could change the email server in Pitboss to "inspector.ad.rustytel.net" (minus the quotes) and tell it not to use a username or password at all, I suspect that the emails will start working.
Let me know if you make this change, and we'll see what happens.

Oh, now I get it, we're actually up to turn 3, because I played 2 in a row, being last. Forget the above.

"great news sir... we can see a big river and land without ice, and something is very bright in the next hill, looks like silver, we are going to investigate..."

Turn 3 (3920 BC) played.
Mail server changed as suggested by DrDeke. Also username, password and email address all cleared...

OK, I am going off-line now for half a day.
I am going to reinstall Windows now![]()
