Patch availability for Civ II MPG

Does there exist a patch for the excessively hostile AI behaviour in Civ II Multiplayer Gold, in order to make it behave like 2.42? I've been Googling, and found rather more patch downloads with no documentation as to function than I was hoping for.

AFAIK there is no way to reduce the intrinsic hostility of the AI in MGE - but if you are not multiplaying what is wrong with sticking to 2.42?

A guy named Skyler was hacking MGE a while ago and posted something like this. I don't remember much commentary about anybody checking it out thoroughly...
