it was just an assumption. i thought that you might probably want to prevent hannibal from getting his own religion so you have a chance to convert him to buddhism.
and as we know, the AI never goes for philosophy...
so that's what i would have done in your situation

or did hanni actually get it?

And in my experience I saw the AI (eventually) do going to Philosophy in other games.

(ah yes, of course, since you haven't contact with Carthage or me, you can't see which city founded the religion)

you having a powerful army is good for me in two ways: a) you won't run off with techs as quickly as in EC4 and b) it will make me think twice and threetimes of attacking you overseas

Wait a second, you have forges but not iron casting? Or are those linked with metallurgy? Should check the civipedia...

as for forges: they come with metal CASTING, not IRON working... i mixed up those two.

again regarding points: every tech gives equal points. i just 2 really "old" things (like riding) from ragnar for a new tech. i got twice the point jump he got, although taking the sum of all beakers, mine had faaaar more!

well, my capital is giving me loads of points. it's at size 9 or 10 now with some wonders. fortunatly i have enough resouces and a large standing army to keep it happy...

What I don't understand is how you can be so productive in both wonders -and military power. Do you have both stone -and marble nearby then?

who says i'm strong at military? i only mentioned that i've got some defences to keep my capital happy. i never said they are more than a bunch of warriors and archers

as for stone: yes, i indeed have it... twice actually. but no marble (ragnar has that)

oh, and the wonder-whoring that i'm doing: i somehow remember another player getting all the cool wonders last time we met and that guy dominated economy- and techwise despite having only 3 good city locations.

congrats btw on beating me to artemis... i'm sure you are enjoying the 5 GPPs you are getting

during the beta phase it was once even more brutally good... now it has been toned down but still beats many other wonders.

did you actually also get the great wall or was it hannibal?
