It swung back already...
sorry, didn't have time last night!
but anyhow, i have a question about warlords: i have not played properly since an early beta version... and now i notice that charismatic has been tones down a lot and tokugawa is both agg + prot ==> 3 free promotions for gunpowder units
have you played more? for instance, how is the vassal model now?

Nownow, don't get carried away.
And I knew there should have been a sneaky reason you choose Churchill...
I have only finished one or two Warlords games sofar, so can't tell you much. What exactly do you want to know about the vassal model? How was it in the beta?
Just checked my inbox, and no turn received yet...
i chose churchill because he has 2 of the 3 new traits and the last one didn't appeal enough to me.
as for vassals: i played about 4 regalar games in various beta releases, of which twice it was a broken model (so not recommended to do there), once i never got close to vassalling anybody (too tough game) and once for some reason i didn't succeed to pressure.
so despite trying all traits and several new unit balancing, i never actually got to see the biggest improvement of this XP
so my question is: when can you actually get a civ to fall vassal? how well do you need to protect/finance them?
last, the game. i said:
sorry, didn't have time last night!
that did not imply that i have played the turn alreadyi'm still at work and will continue on to a sushi- and cinema dinner tonight

Oh, ok. I did understand it that way.
Have fun on your outing.
As for vassalship: two things can happen if you have pressed enough military on a civ you're at war with (few cities left, or an overwhelming army near important city(ies). The civ can offer to capitulate to you, or it can offer a vassalship to another strong civ, which means you're automatically at war with the "protector" as well if it agrees.
In case you manage to let the civ capitulate to you, it will remain a vassal of yours as long its population and landsize is under a certain percentage of the master (yours) civ. I don't get it completely either, since the display-percentages seem a bit buggered, I mosttimes see two times the same notification about landsize compared to the vassal in two different ways. At least how I interprete them. Population percentage always looks good.
There's supposed to be a friendly way of convincing a vassalship upon another civ, but I never reached that stage.

Why do you presume we're on different continents?
(turned)
because i have reached all sides of my continent and there's no sign of you. so unless you're stuck on a 1-tile wide, 4 tile long peninsula or you founded somewhere in the midst of the tundra and ice, i'm certain you are not sharing my continent![]()
