Came across a problem with the Romans.
I was at a point where I could build Praetorians.
Later, I got Military Training. With that tech, I can no longer build Praetorians, but inferior "Infantry" with 6 strength compared to the Praetorians' 8.No such thing as overkill, just ensured victory!

Uhm... I have no explanation other than that there must be something wrong with how or where you installed it.
Go and check whether you have a CIV4\MODS\ANCIENT MEDITERRANEAN\ASSETS\XML\TEXT folder and whether there are any files in there.My websites:
