When I make trades I can offer the AI 100 gold in exchange for 100 gold, or 5 GPT for 5 GPT. Does this improve my relationship as a valid trade? Will I get a bigger plus for good trade agreements? If so, that seems to be a little cheat, don't it? Anyone know?

Maybe it's a difficulty setting thing (other than my very first game, I have played all my games at Noble), but I have yet to see the AI even have any gold to trade. (Well, once, I did see Catherine have 81 gold; I remember because it was the first and only time I ever saw anything other than 0.)
Note: I have just been presuming that this is so I wouldn't know how much money my opponent had, not that he or she was really broke.
Anyway, has anyone actually tried this?
yeah, it gives a diplo boost to you with that AI.
