After almost winning a game at noble I think it is time to move up a level.

I'm playing as the Romans, with 11 computer players on a large map.

Terra map on large with 11 civs... that's what I'm currently playing (only on Noble, I admit). The "old world" gets real crowded real fast.

Back home the Notre Dame is built by a Great Engineer

By the end of the century the western seaboard is heavily colonized.

And the maintance costs are really piling up, down to 60% science already.

Overall though, things are looking much better than they did for the first 5000 years of the Roman Empire.

I tried rushing Versialles, but it only took off about 200 turns, with 65 left

. I guess I'm going to have to bring over my other Great Engineer to finish it off. I can only sustain 20% science at this point, and am falling dangerously behind.

BTW, would the extra hammers be wasted if I rushed Versailles again?
Or would they carry over to future projects?

EPW showed the icon to click a few posts above, but you can also use CTRL-R from the keyboard to toggle the resource balloons on and off.

On-topic: 20% science!?! You're a dead man.
