Sadly, building lasers instead of torps makes no difference ... the bigger fleet is going to beat me no matter what (Unless they're dumb, or I get lucky, and put some L against their F ...)

Ran some hypothetical results, with your similar OoBs, different fleet compositions or formations would have merely affected how long it took to die, in one case, had you backed off, we'd have gone to Round 45.

Yup. Thought about it, actually, and mostly decided i wouldn't because I wanted the game to end before next week I pretty much knew that if they attacked like this, it would be up to where the M was, and I was hoping to pre-empt Jaguar by thinking he would try to trick me, so I went with a stock OOB. Bah.

Anyway, good game Jonny, take them out now

Bases were swapped and lost and empires consolidated as empires grew over the past seven years, but all eight remained.

Now, with the fall of Siffan, a new era dawned on the galaxy. The cold war had turned hot, and with the five remaining minor powers left with no shipyards, the fate of the universe lay in thehands of the two superpowers. The next year their fleets would be equals...

Bipolar Galaxy

Here is something to think about
Under communism, man exploits man. Under capitalism, it's the other way around.

The last battle may well have been the last hurrah of the old warmongers, as while they may have made almost all the attacks so far, they now held almost none of the bases or fleets.

A fully 80% of the galaxy's firepower was either in the hands of Kit Chuss or Mr. Y, with the numbers almost evenly split. Next year, the sum was projected to rise to 85%. When would the arms race end?

Tempted to offer, but as I would have a singular goal that wouldn't have anything to do with winning , I don't think that would be such a good idea. And not terribly fair to the other players or to the one (or more ) players whom I would be likely to target

Seriously Geo, I think your jumping in and out of the game is getting a little cheap.

It sort of takes away from taking out an Overlord, too, if they can just resurrect if someone else bails out. I think it would serve to expediate the conclusion of the game if MORON's fleet was just scuttled.
