    Sorting It Out

    Greetings here!

This is a new PBEM, SMAX, transcend (of course).

Small map, everything average, ~33% ocean and players are as follows:

    Code:
    Player Faction Playtime	Email
    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
AndiD: PKs 07:00-21:00 GMT	smac AT andreas-drechsler DOT de
Fosse: Spartans	11:00-18:00 GMT	kylebenanderson AT gmail DOT com
Senethro:	Angels 18:00-00:00 GMT	senethro AT gmail DOT com
useless:	Gaians 18:00-00:00 GMT	aoxr11 AT dsl DOT pipex DOT com
Arcainite:	CyCon 18:00-00:00 GMT	Arcainite AT aol DOT com
munchingfoo:	Morgan 18:00-00:00 GMT	munchingfoo AT gmail DOT com
    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Each player gets double starting units and ECs (and I mean double).

There's one AI as well, whose faction is to remain secret until the start of the game. He has double units too plus a little more..

First turn goes to AndiD, passwords to all.

    Good luck!

    EDIT:
Important! To improve my CMN skills by taking expierence from past games I've decided to take a copy of turn each 20 years. You do not need to stop the game, just the last player of the order (namely munchingfoo) should send the turn both to next player and me (adding the game name as email subject).
This should be done at the end of 2120, 2140, 2160 etc, so the turn I recieve is actually start of 2121, 2141, 2161 etc respectively.

Please try to remember to do this!

    2101 just went to Sparta.

p.s. I like your choice of the 7th faction- should make for an interesting game.

Great! I have the turn in my mailbox, and I'll be able to play tonight when I get home (just like the schedule says, neat!).

Thanks binTravkin, for setting this up and getting us started. The work you did is appreciated.

    turn sent.

I have to say I was fearful that BinTravkin had added an aquatic Sid Meier of Firaxis for the seventh faction or something equally as "surprising".

Great starting position, well designed. Kudos to our CMN ^_^

Managed to pop a worm from a pod already.
Must remember to only pop pods in base grid or well outside of territory...

I forgot to note that some starting positions contain custom terraforming for balance reasons. The map was just too small to make everyone have a couple of rainy squares around.

Starting tomorrow I'll be unable to play a turn until Monday. This is the travel I mentioned in our startup thread.

I'll be itching to get back!

    Arrow Turn sent

Sorry it took so long this first turn. I had forgotten what the password was I was supposed to use.

Senethro, I sent the last turn I received (2102) to you on the 22nd. I didn't repost, which I should have.

    I'm resending it now.

Sorry, its not a problem Fosse. I sent it on to useless without updating the turn tracking thread myself. I was just wondering whats up. We had a good beginning on turn rate and I was hoping to maintain it.

Hey guys. I am not going to have a network connection for the next 2 weeks but I can go to the library and collect/send my turn on floppy. This might mean my normal turn playing time is slightly changed, but even if we only get a turn every two days I guess that is still an improvement over now :P

Yeah, we're at 15 days since the last turn was sent. Perhaps it's time to find a replacement... only the second turn so it shouldn't be that hard to find someone (I hope, I've never had to go through the process before).

Please you do so and then make a new thread here "Replacement needed for Gaians @ SIO PBEM" or somesuch.

I will follow the events and provide a password once replacement has been found.

Yes, I agree we should find a replacement. Quite disappointing for my first internet PBEM. I am sure they are not all like this though.

    Hi guys,

And munchingfoo, a lot of pbems, for whatever reason experience a changes of players. It happened to me in my first unfinished pbem. However there are others that keep the same players over 12-18 months and I am in a number of those also.

Meanwhile a number of my long term pbems are coming to a close, so time to invest in some new ones.

I am interested in this because of the small map size. However, by now I would be regarded as a veteran., so if a newbie or other recent 'Poly member volunteers to join, that's ok by me.

I can give Herc pass right now if everyone agrees.
