    Mmmmm, Newcastle.

Funny how an inferior team always has to gloat when it beats a superior one...

And before anyone starting whining like a stuck pig as poly posters are wont to do - I don't support Tottscum

What do you mean? Spurs are rubbish. They couldn't even beat Newcastle despite the lads having a makeshift defence for most of the game and having played on Thursday.

At least it wasn't 6-0 or whatever it was last time Spurs came north for a cup tie.

Doesn't gloating require some to gloat over?

Spurs are so rubbish they're above Newcastle in the Premiership, which makes Newcastle...?

While Newcastle have Souness as manager they will be sh*t - end of story.

    Are you on crack?

Newcastle swapped managers just before Xmas as the dressing room (well Craig Bellamy) had gotten out of control and the team was a mess.

Newcastle are the form team in the league. They've won seven games in a row and have not lost in their last fourteen games. In fact IIRC they have lost only once this year - to Arsenal.

I wasn't a Souness believer, but he has managed to get the team playing like a team and has rescued the season. His player management has been superb. You have to give him credit for that.

And Maquiladora is a Spurs fan. He's awful quiet. I should find the thread in which he predicted they'd beat us.

Newcastle won 1-0 at a home game and you started to gloat, Aggie?

I wouldn't have gloated if certain strangely silent Apolytoners hadn't predicted a Spurs win.

edit: plus it was a cup game UR - not some boring ordinary tie.

Newcastle is really awful as a team. If anyone has seen their latest UEFA Cup match with Olympiakos, you'll know what i mean. Sure they won 1-3, but the other team was playing with 9 players and their early first goal was a nonexistent PK. They were blatantly pushed to victory by the spanish referee who had decided to kill Olympiakos, but they managed to play 11 vs. 9 in the second half and foul them 3 times as often in order to keep them back. They even dropped so low as not not even keep the fair play in one occasion.

And think that I'm not even an Olympiakos fan, I'm for Panathinaikos, so naturally I should be cool about this. But I can't stand seing written that Newcastle is a good team.

I thought the ref was hopeless, but Newcastle were still the better team.

I didnt even see the game or the highlights yet, I had to suffer listening to it on the radio before going out.

We were awful first half, i expected us to start badly and be dominated the first half anyway because that was Newcastles only chance to catch us out. Second half Shay Given kept you in it, especially the last 20mins and the 2 saves in 5 minutes from Defoe and then Keane i think.

Ill wait to see the 2 penalty shouts for handball and the ruled out goal for a (dodgy) foul we had before saying we was robbed but we were still unlucky. Even Souness said they were the better team for the first 20mins and we had dominated the rest of the game.

HAHAHAHA... still talking smack now, Maq?

Souness is doing a fine job in charge of the Magpies. 7 straight victories within the last 25 days. Yesterday he had to use Jenas as right back and the defense still conceeded no goals (thanks Shay!).

On to the FA Cup! At the very least if we make it to the Finals against Arsenal or ManU, no matter what happens we make it back to Europe!

Tottenham is something like a black hole - it sucks in talent, but you can't see any of afterwards. Another season as an invicible ghost team in the middle of the table.

Naybet rocks though, I really enjoyed how he ran the Morrocian defence with Ouaddou and El Karkouri.

Hopefully you are mocking a generic Chelsea fan and not saying you are one yourself!

Though I must say, of the Big 3, I prefer Chelsea the most. Anything to get ManU and Arsenal all upset is fine by me .

I am one myself but I try and keep it quiet these days. Hate annoying gloating Arsenal and ManU fans, and am sure Chelsea fans will go the same way.

And my school was full of Liverpool shirts in the 80s. You don't see them any more though.

Yeah, that's pathetic. You can divorce from your wife if you want to, change nationality or abandon your kids, but club-commitement is for life!

A friend of mine changed from Liverpool to Newcastle and then back again (in our treble year funnily enough), he has absolutley zero credibility during football arguments.

What happened to Spurs? I used to like them back in the 80s when they had Hoddle, Archibald, Crooks, Ardiles and co. Villa's cup goal is still one of the best ever scored in that compo.

Newcastle have drawn Manure in the semi and Titus is out for a month to six weeks. I guess we're ****ed.
