I wipe a bab town from the map, and its' not inconsiderable guardians, and you clamour for our surrender?

Your lost 280 shields, if we include the workers and settler that built the town, as the town has added nothing to your economy. We lost 60 shields, but captured 3 slaves, and a cat, so we get 50 shields back.

So, overall, we lost net 10 shields. You lost 280.

Haha, Captain Vimes uses mercenaries called the Black Hand. Everyone knows that Ankh-Morpork has no army. And noone was victorious against that city just becaues shortly after a 'win' the 'winners' have lost all their money and became a part of Ankh-Morpork...

So, the ones who suffer are the Babylonians.

Warning to AM! Seek your peace now before we end your civilization!

We have succeeded in researching Casino Gambling with Bingo and we WILL turn it loose on your homeland if you do not immediately cease, desist, give us three settlers - or something like that - and generally suck up to us.

Your warriors will return home to find that your wives and parents have forfeited everything that you worked so hard to gain. They will have sold the family hut and moved into a trailer, or at least a worse hut.

I would be happy for some diplomacy with AM. If begging for mercy and kissing their boots could do it, I am willing.

However, they are pitiless and merciless - and also da#n good players. We could help to spiff up their diplomacy a little, perhaps.

A further warning to Ankh-Morpork:
We are on the verge of revealing our true secret weapon. One so dire that we can only speak of it in hushed tones: The Internal Revenue Service. Once this springs up in their land, any hope of carrying home the loot from their conquests will be truly hopeless. A massive bureaucracy will suck away their very will to work, to war and even to live.

If that doesn't work we will start broadcasting reality shows (from heralds shouting over the walls of their cities of course) into Ankh-Morpork. THAT ought to drain their culture down into the abyss.
