Ding dong, the witch is dead...Ex-President Ronald Reagan dies
Former US President Ronald Reagan's health has died, aged 93, after reports in recent days that his health had taken a turn for the worse.
He had suffered from Alzheimer's disease, and had not been seen in public for several years.
He died at his home in California, according to a friend quoted anonymously by Reuters news agency.
He was US president from 1981 to 1989 and had lived longer than any other holder of the post.
Mr Reagan revealed in November 1994 that he was suffering from Alzheimer's disease, which destroys brain cells and causes memory loss.
Since then, he retreated to his home in Los Angeles, where he had been nursed by close members of his family.

Cuando tomamos la deuda los intereses eran un porcentaje. Durante el gobierno de Reagan se fueron por el techo y nosotros no podiamos hacer nada, eh? voy a repetir un poco de lo que postié en MZO:
En lo personal creo que fue muy buen presidente en cuanto a su objetivo de acabar con la guerra fria. Los presidentes gringos anteriores se habian preocupado demasiado por contener y combatir el comunismo como ideología olvidando que detras de esa ideología había un estado-nación (la URSS). La brillantez de Reagan fue saber que el verdadero enemigo no era tanto el comunismo, sino la URSS como nación, y que los recursos de EU se debían utilzar con ese solo objetivo, de destruir la URSS por medio de te todo salvo una guerra abierta.
Yo siento que Bush trata de emular mucho el aspecto determinativo de Reagan pero fracasa rotundamente porque el, a diferencia de Reagan, no esta haciendo nada para acabar con la raiz del problema. El terrorismo es un fenomeno social y se debe combatir atacando esos problemas sociales que generan terrorismo. Bush solo quiere acabar con Al-Qaeda, y aunque lo logre, habrá algunos que seguirán sus pasos. Reagan SI entendio la raiz de los problemas y los atacó de frente. Bush no.
En cuanto a sus politicas economicas, creo que son muy debatibles. Lo que si es que si estas de acuerdo con sus políticas, no cabe duda que considerarias a Reagan un gran presidente.
