Maybe its a big joke and never existed?

For years, I've heard about this game, and how it is one of the best adventure gamers of all time.
Sadly, no one sells it anymore--not even Chips 'n' Bits. Can't find it on Ebay. And can't find it on approved abandonware sites, even though nobody sells it.
Any ideas?

Never heard of it.
But it seems to be available on eDonkey.Three CDs, right? I can't vouch for the actual content.

never heard of eDonkey.

It uses more protocols than eDonkey, so lets you find more stuff.

I'm building a wagon! On some other part of the internets, obviously (but not that other site).
The advice is sound, but I'd remove that link.
Also, try ebay.

Good advice for the first part. Link removed.
Can't find it on Ebay.

Yeah but sometimes they aren't always on ebay, if you try again it will occasionally show up. Its not likes a million copies of this and someone puts it up every week is there?

I found an online shop that still sells it, for $20.

I presume that he would have been continuously checking ebay as well, seeing as he mentioned it in his first post.
Anyway, congrats Guynemer on finding it.
I got me a copy of Hardwar from ebay before, that was very hard to find too.

Yay! Last Express is a brilliant game. I could never get past Vieena, and I lost it when moving
Care to share the link?
Well done.![]()

What was the name of the old Amiga mystery game set on board a ship? You had to go and talk to all the passengers, and there would be cinematic events like they have in Final Fantasy games these days. I remember that was rather good, if a little hard to get into. (read initially frustrating)

Sorry to name the game fans - it was called Cruise for a Corpse.
The game engine worked well, but the way things happened was often a bit strange. Enthralling though! Google tells me that the inspector was called Raoul Dusentier.
If anyone's still got an Amiga, or an emulator of some kind then look this one up. It may even have had a PC version...![]()

There is a PC version. IIRC the pet website that should not be linked to has it...
Within weeks they'll be re-opening the shipyards
And notifying the next of kin
Once again...
Indeed. I played it after Buck used it in the Name the Game thread.

"The Last Express" arrived yesterday, and I'm happy to announce that it ran smoothly on my brand new system, even though it was designed for Windows 95.
Actually just finished it; not overly long, but quite challenging, and undeniably, fantastically cool. The ending gave me chills several times. If you have any interest at all in adventure games or history, I highly, highly recommend this.
Four stars, and the Guynemer banana seal of approval.

You finished it in a day? That gets the DrSpike cautionary star. Usually when I'm enjoying a game and I realise it's about to end after such little play, I throw things at the wall, which greatly increases the price of the game.

A good game has to last quite a while. 15 hours for Deus Ex 2 for example sent that game directly to the "don't purchase" pile, for what should have been an automatic purchase for me. I still play Deus Ex from time to time.

It's an adventure from 1997; it simply can't last that long. Trust me, it's worth it.

Why does being from 1997 mean it can't last very long? Games are generally shorter today than then.Originally posted by Guynemer

Adventure games?
Has there ever been a straight-on classic adventure game that lasted that long?

Yes! 1 day is terrible. Was it flat out all day, or just 7 or 8 hours?

It could be a perspective thing. I played Monkey Island back when it was first released, and it had enough to keep me occupied for several months (although obviously, not all day every day). Playing it recently, a few hours and it was all over.

Pretty much flat out all day, I'd estimate 8ish hours start to finish if you remove rewinds and restarts.Originally posted by DrSpike
