The above quote has inspired me to share all I have learnt of epistemology from the Internet.

I have learnt that the purpose of debate is to demonstrate which protaganist is a ****. This is done by interminable debate which employs a mixture of facts and personal insults.

There are two sorts of facts.
    - good facts, these support ones argument and should be used unsparingly
    - bad facts, these do not support ones argument and should be completely ignored

Good facts need not be true. One can make stuff up and as one goes along.

Bad facts, when used by an opponent are automatically untrue and may be refuted.

The nature of truth thus depends upon ones conclusions. Conclusions which may have been drawn independently of any facts.

What have you learnt from the Internet about the nature of knowledge and truth?

You have forgotten the first rule of online epistemology:

Hitler Jugend,Hitler Youth,Jungvolk, jungmadel, Adolf Hitler Schools, education of the will,Baldur Von Shirach,Bund Deuscher Maedel,Aryan man,Rassenkunde des deutschen Volkes,National Socialist Teachers League,Law Against the Overcrowding of German Schools and Higher Institutions

In this way, Hitler’s theory of knowledge could be classified as an “anti-classical” epistemology, though he would not have made any such claims himself.
Hitler was an aspiring epistemologist, you are an aspiring epistemologist. Thus you = Hitler.

I must say, I admire your ability to combine true and untrue facts in a selective and judicious way to come to a conclusion.

I also quite admire the way you used logical reasoning. It is the way you left out a step in the logic that totally destroys logic in such a casual way the reader doesn't really notice.

That's exactly what Hitler said to Goebbels ...

(But really, I was pointing out the flaw in your OP, in which you didn't mention Godwin. Nor did you mention cherry picking Google results or copy pasting Wikipedia, so you're Hitler )

Kim Jong un is in charge of North Korea.

Aeson is in charge of Apolyton.

              Aeson is Kim Jong Un.

              I am learning.

I am still learning. I am but a student. I have flaws and imperfections.

I also forgot to mention "changing the subject", if you still remember the subject.

I suggest that being the family friendly site and all, we all agree to the new rule that the bras can come off.

This is to showcase unity, and to demonstrate that there are issues on which the left, right and centre can agree on.
Socrates: "Good is That at which all things aim, If one knows what the good is, one will always do what is good." Brian: "Romanes eunt domus"
GW 2013: "and juistin bieber is gay with me and we have 10 kids we live in u.s.a in the white house with obama"

Another important aspect of internet espistemology:

Correlation is not causation: thousands of charts of real data showing actual correlations between ridiculous variables.

(I can see the drowning/Cage movies being a causal relationship. I was considering drowning myself to get out of watching "Left Behind" after just a few minutes of the film.)

It is interesting, and would be a good subject for a copycat thread.

However this thrade is a send up of Internet debates.
