CNN and Fox News are marketed towards idiots?

But Al Jezeera is marketed towards middling intelligence urbanites such as myself? How did they know I just want news?

It seems like the default position of a "news" network. CNN discovered that news is actually boring and stopped reporting on it for the sake of ratings. It's like how MTV realized music videos suck.

CNN is the best US cable news channel for just the news without opinion but, at least for it's domestic feed, it doesn't have very good international news coverage and an excessive amount of their non-straight news shows are sensationalist garbage. Fox literally has been documented as lying most of the time to their viewers so it isn't a creditable source. MSNBC does have more misinformation than CNN but much, much less than Fox and they as a rule do on air corrections if the mess up was on air (which is better than Fox who feeds its lies out on air but then does retractions only online and normally months later). Sure, MSNBC is "point of view" journalism which means they're an advocate for one side instead of being neutral but they do tell everyone that up front. To compare, Fox lies and claims it is "fair and balanced" when they are outrageously advocates for one side and even sued all the way to the SCotUS for their "right" to deliberately lie and call it news.

I agree Al Jazeera is better than the US broadcasters though I don't get the channel and they stopped allowing people in the US to watch for free online at the website like they used to do.
