  • What sucks about Rise of Nations?

in CTW i would like to see an option to start with more stuff. you get 1-2 cities with some farms, buildings and a few troops. so you have to spend several minutes building up and geting in techs.

if you could start with much more people(you get 5-6 citizens) and resources it would save up time, without loosing much of the first-minutes strategy....

It doesn't come with free shares in BHG.

IMO, CtW itself. I was expecting much more, but now I'm looking the other way. It just seems way too limited. I myself was expecting an EUII-style game, with RoN mechanics, but reading about it now, and with the release approaching, I don't think it will undergo any significant changes..

This is what I like about Call To Power, the ability to start with say 9 settlers and start at a later stage instead 1 settler and ancient.

        Good Call!!

Multiplayer wont be hosted on Battlenet.

edit:Also the way units turns into blobs when they go behind buildings. Surely there's a more aesthetic solution.

            CTW

I don't like that we can't choose the starting and ending age for CTW.

Whats with the hard ons for CTW? MP is way more fun than a SP scenario. I guess it'll be cool, but damn.

Very true, HalfLotus. RoN was designed from the ground up to be a mulitplayer game.

What does suck is that I wasn't hired to work on it

and another point, as far as I can tell, very few have actually played this game yet. I love gaming via PC. modding (scenario making) but I hope this will be the game many of us anticipate

I dont think any should panic, think ctw "Sucks", or kick or yet even "edify" this game..

Lets await and see for ourselves!!!

I have monitored many a forum discussion on new games, everyone gets all hyped up about what it will or wont do, "press releases" come and go, some honest and forthright some eye candy to keep us "Pacified", a lot more , however, are to pacify us. The game gets released and off we go "patching" the game to meet acceptable standards.

Be patient all and soon we shall see exactly how RoN fares with each individual's review

I'm hoping its gonna be a real "strategy" game and not a clickfest. And I'd wager my left nut that it'll be better than Civ3.

Not that I want any extra "Cahoona's" but I also hope it is more strategy than ..to quote you my friend.."Click Fest"

                          Soon we shall know!!!

as a TBS player i was "disgusted" to see that in the end-game stats creens, RoN also has listings of the players based on number of clicks

MarkG - Actually, as an old-school TBS player, I love the speed stats. I often have a much lower speed score than my foe. Winning against people with higher speed scores goes to strategy having the ability to win over frantic clicking.
