Citing judicial ethics concerns, Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh declined more than $600,000 that was donated to aid his family during the firestorm over sexual misconduct allegations that plagued his confirmation. The judge’s decision was announced on Tuesday in a message posted on the online fundraising page that gathered the funds.

For Trump supporters, wonton belligerence and partisanship is a feature, not a bug.

Yet when reports are fabricated that Mueller was inappropriate Kid will believe them. We can all count on it.

Neither Ford did (attempted rape != rape) nor AFAIK the client of Arvenatti (she didn't claim that Kavanaugh took part in the gang rapes she witnessed)

You really think Kavanaugh's behavior under pressure demonstrated the disposition and neutrality required of a Supreme Court justice?
Look, I dislike Clarence Thomas as an unoriginal thinker of limited legal insight, and think the accusations against were much more credible. But at least he showed some dignity and class through the process. Kavanaugh OTOH revealed himself as vindictive and petty, while lying under oath multiple times.

We require more of our hires at the local middle school than the Republicans require of a Supreme Court justice.

What that says is that the Supreme Court justices deserve the respect given to a politician and not the respect given to a professional much less that given to an arbitrator. Which is very damaging for our justice system.

Re: mifepristone, many drugs have widely disparate uses. The other half of the abortion cocktail, misoprostol, was originally developed to keep people on NSAIDs (like ibuprofen or aspirin) from getting stomach ulcers. It's still used for that purpose; most retail pharmacies will sell a pill with combined ibuprofen and misoprostol. The abortion thing is an off-label use. Similarly, viagra can be used for respiratory conditions as well as erectile dysfunction, and methotrexate, which can be used for abortion, is also used for arthritis and cancer treatment. Drugs are weird, because the human body doesn't always work in a straightforward way. It doesn't make sense to write off a multipurpose drug on the basis of one of its applications.
