Oh ... and it's UNFAIR that they timed their announcement to have the MOST EFFECT! They should only announce things when it's BEST for US! #magaBabyTantrum #artOfTheNoDeal #mama #WeHaveTheBestNegotiatorsInTheWorld

Either they'll pull themselves back from the brink....or they wont. But i like to think that enough republicans will know what'll happen if they don't (crash and./or burn)
But don't expect the steel industry to approach anywhere near where it used to be say 30-40 years ago. Those days are over. Even Here in Canada the steel industry is a shadow of it's former self. There used to be several steel forges and factories in the city i live in. Now there might be one stelco plant, but i think it closed a while ago. Plus there used to be countless steel companies and mills here in Ontario, now most are gone....Welcome to the Post-Industrial era.

Well, in this case just lets continue with the trade war (including the retaliatory tariffs by the EU, planned to start at the beginning of July) and everyone`s a winner

The US manufacturers are just one customer of many ... if we, for example, lower our steel prices by 2 % and this results in cutomers in Canada and Asia ordering more steel (and enough to offset the lower US demand for our steel (due to them being affected by the tariffs)) then, from the standpoint of german steel makers, everything is fine
