What does any of that have to do with your response to me? Ad at no point did reg lament any slavery reference in the movie that spawned this thread.

So, yeah, anyone else sick of the racism is bad ****? Like, as if I need to be ****ing told.
I guess you missed this post, Patty.

      • The fact that you aren't able to see the distinction between a shoehorned-in thing about slavery being bad in a movie not about slavery, and a movie that is explicitly about a slave's experiences is sadly not surprising.

        • You realize that your slavery is showhorned in sooo many movies thing was shown to be crap, right? And that was your first post on topic in this thread (your previous post was on the Lego movie). So what the **** was that post even supposed to be about aside from complaining about 12 Years a Slave being about racism?! I mean which other movie were you thinking about and why were you referencing it out of the blue?

          • Oh did reg repeat the thing FOX made up about the Lego movie being anti-capitalism?

More accurately I know the difference between the mini series Band of Brothers and the feature length film Twelve Years a Slave. We have established over the years that despite your toilet paper degree insinuating otherwise you are **** awful at history but surely even you can recognize the difference.

All this is irrelevant, however, because when you responded to me I was not refering to any particular movie or any particular shoehorned theme. In fact the first words of the post you quoted were explisetly to set aside regs specific critisism. So once again what the **** was the point of your response to me?!

I dunno. I was distracted trying to correct your incorrect opinion about Dredd.

The Band of Brothers was a mini-series with the inanely obvious message that, "Nazis were bad," according to reg, if we apply his same pitiful "standards" on Twelve Years a Slave, to other movies and mini-series like The Band of Brothers.

There is no logical way to come to that conclusion based on any posts contained in this thread. Ironically you have proven how awkward and stupid shoehorning messages into a really can be by doing so here.

I bet you liked Red Tails.

                          • Band of Brothers wasn't about Nazis being bad though it did have a Very Special Episode about a concentration camp (which was historical; the company in question in fact liberated a concentration camp, and that was a major part of their wartime experience).

I haven't read Red Tails; from what I understand it's a ****ty anthropomorphic animals version of LotR for children. Incidentally the fantasy and scifi genres are the worst offenders of shoehorned-in morals about racism and ****. e.g. take any BioWare game ever.

(the worst offender being ME3's insistence that we be accepting of Joker's robosexuality)

edit: I can't believe I forgot, BBC is the pretty bad about this too

I guess you're looking everywhere for anything that you find offensive.

Why one would find a movie portraying the reality of slavery to be offensive though, I can't fathom.

Or maybe Solomon Northup had some PC agenda of some kind to want to recount his experiences, when he wrote and had his book published. The nerve of him.

Maybe because nobody, not even me, actually does!

I know it's probably decades too late to ask you to learn to read, but nonetheless.
