You are still responsible for what you say, regardless of whether you were trolled.
I am very happy to take responsibility for what I say, especially in response to you. Ithis case (as in all cases with you), you have taken an position you have no hope of defending.

Lets go through one of thes "lies" shall we?

      8. If you spend 20 years in the military you can retire and receive one-half of your pay for the rest of your life.
      Absolutly true.

Truth: Close, but not quite. First of all, we're only talking base pay, here. All of the allowances that you've gotten used to, such as housing allowance and food allowance, aren't included.
Allowances are not pay, as the name implies. Where is the lie?

Second, if you joined the military in 1980 or later, your retirement pay is calculated based on your highest 36 month average of base pay, not your final base pay.
      Where is the lie?

In other words, if you are promoted to E-7 then retire a year later with 20 years of service, your retirement pay would be calculated based on two year's average of your E-6 pay, and only one year's average of your E-7 pay. It's still not a bad deal, but not the 50 percent some are promised. More details can be found in Understanding Military Retirement Pay.
Where is the lie, that is the published system since 1980. Though I would love to know how may recruits care or recruiters discuss retirement.

Additionally, all of your retirement pay may not belong to you. If you were married at any time during your military service, under the Uniformed Services Former Spouse Protection Act, any state divorce court can treat your current or future retirement pay as "community property" and award a portion of it to your ex-spouse. Considering 50 percent of military marriages end up in divorce, this is something to keep in mind.
Not true, there is a time frame. And are not civilian pensions subject to the same thing Where is the lie?

You can also retire from the Guard or Reserves if you have 20 or more years of "qualifying service," but can't start receiving your retirement pay until you reach the age of 60.
Published everywhere, in fact I just had training on this last week, E-1 to O-6.

A "qualifying year" doesn't mean a normal year. It's based on earned "retirement points." For details, see my Guard/Reserve Retirement Pay System Information Page.
Again, why would recruiters discuss this anyways?

But no lies. The rest of your article is similar semantic bull****. Also provides nothing more than "what he hears" or "thinks"

I would say good try, but it really wasn't

      Also from the same article...

This unforgiving system of numbers have caused some recruiters (in my opinion a small percentage) to lie and cheat in order to "make their nut."
      Thanks?

No need to try. Everyone one in the military knows that recruiters lie except hopeless gungho lifers like you. To you recruiters just tell you the good stuff about the military (cherry picking). Come on now, who is full of bull****, honestly?

After four years at The Citadel, I had no illusions.

Tell that to all the guys who got their SRB bonuses last week. I work a nuclear training command, they come here pissing themselves because of how hard they think it is going to be. Face it Kid, you are out of your element on this one.

And did my recruiters give me an accurate picture? No, as I wasn't recruited. But would it have been possible for them to give me an accurate picture even if they wanted to? No. Does that mean they lied? No.

I read a travel guide on Scotland before I went. They didn't tell me that "cheers" could mean goodbye too!

I was so lied to. Cirminal (the real definition, just so we are clear )

The fact is that human trafficking is rampant in the middle east cultures.
                That doesn't make this right.

Last figures I heard on L.A. were that 10,000 slaves pass through here every year. We're a major human-trafficking hub.

                U.S. jobs the use slaves:
                Garment industry
                Housekeepers
                Porn industry

Filipinos forced to work in Iraq on US embassy

I call BS on this. Passes were likely marked Dubai instead of Baghdad for any of a number of other reasons than what the author thinks, airport security and fear of infiltrators acquiring and passing on personal information being among the most obvious.

“The steward was having problems keeping guys in their seats because they were so upset, wanted to get off the airplane,” says Mayberry. “They were upset they weren’t headed to Dubai where they were promised they were working.”

That sounds more like what was occuring in the authors' head than what actually transpired. The perceived alarm among passengers could have been caused by several things other than what he's so fixated on.

He says when he arrived in Baghdad he notified the State Department official in charge of the embassy project about what had happened on his flight and she replied "that’s the way they do it."

Sure. Or maybe the State Department official was just about as thrilled by having to listen to this guy's loony fantasies as I am, and figured out a rather brilliant way of ending the conversation by simply agreeing with him. You have to admit that as far as referencing "conversations" go, this one's on the slim side. Mighty slim side.

Having spent 9 years in the service I would like to say that mostly the service is a joke and you can make much better money and have more free time in the civilian world as long as you aren't a total idiot. The problem with the service is that it was filled with idiots. Idiots who couldn't make it in the real world and so who held on fast to the one thing they knew and could get a steady paycheck from. It's not pretty.

Yet one lone steward was apparently able to keep them from totally flipping out.

She wanted to shut him up. Or, the comment was in reference to the boarding passes being marked Dubai for security reasons. Or, this guy Mayberry has a screw loose and will next claim that the moon over Baghdad was pink with little purple effects sprinkled across its disc.

Not all people are gullible enough to believe one man's account of incidents like these, let alone elevate it to be some kind of gospel which cannot be reasonably scrutinized with regards to its overall plausibility.

A guy calls the report the kidnapping of over four dozen people, and the State Department official wants to shut him up?! --Well that jibes with the Inspector's investigation, where they called up the suspected perpetrator and made an appointment to come and investigate in three months.

And note: Mayberry is referred to as the chief accuser, not the only accuser.
