Did they wipe out all the Kennedys already? There must be a couple of them left.

hardly certain that GWB will win the next election and people are already predicting the one after that .
oh and insiders saying that Jeb will win if he runs does not NECESSARILY mean that the fix is in or that the insiders choose. It could just be a comment on his abilities.
The one thing jeb won't want to hear is " you know I like him but think his brother is smarter"

The explanation that I've heard is that he doesn't' want to put up with the incredible invasion of his privacy (by the press) that would inevitably accompany a campaign. And the reason for that is, apparently, that his wife received psychiatric treatment for depression -- including medication, IIRC -- and he doesn't want the press snooping around that. Sad thing is,people probably wouldn't care -- depression, therapy, and drug treatment aren't the taboos they once were -- but the press would still play it to the hilt. Bastards.

Jeb has pertty much been a disaster here. Jeb keeps trying to sabotage public initiatives despite sold public support for them. He ilegally knocked almost 100,000 voters off the roles (which helped his brother become Pres and likely kept Reno--who was the only Dem who had a chance to beat Bush--from winning the Primary here last year). Our state is in debt thouh before he came to office it has a surplus, our education system among the worst in the nation, democracy a joke . . . is this really what you want for the rest of the country?

All the information I saw pointed to Jeb having an easier time beating Reno.

Well, he does speak Spanish and has a Mexican wife.
He's much more wonkish than Bush II, but doesn't have a diplomatic career like Bush I did. He's as much of a wheeler-dealer as Bush II. Don't have a sense of how politically bold he is, though.
I came upon a barroom full of bad Salon pictures in which men with hats on the backs of their heads were wolfing food from a counter. It was the institution of the "free lunch" I had struck. You paid for a drink and got as much as you wanted to eat. For something less than a rupee a day a man can feed himself sumptuously in San Francisco, even though he be a bankrupt. Remember this if ever you are stranded in these parts. ~ Rudyard Kipling, 1891
Yeah! Let Jeb do for the rest of the country what he's done for Florida!
Some of his "achievements":
* cut $111 million from the state university system budget
* despite a class size amendment overwhelmingly voted in by the people of Florida limiting sizes of younger kids' classes, Bush says it's a no-go for money reasons
* a child services system that "lost" a whole bunch of kids somehow
...the list goes on. His latest "idea" is to eliminate the agency that assesses the effectiveness of government programs. After all, the governor can just tell us what is good and what isn't. We can trust the government. TRUST the government. trust the government. you are getting sleepy, very sleeeeepy. TRUST the government. The government is your friend...
