But you are missing my point. Baghdad was a *very* good place to live, *under Saddam*, before the US bombing/sanctions.
I do not buy this entire 'Saddam is a monster' nonsense. Among Middle Eastern rulers (including Israeli ones), the guy is above average, or better.
