  • Are you Ready for some Football - Week 17

Can the Eagles win home field advantage throughout...
Can the Bears mail another game in so we can get a better draft pick.

The last week of the regular season is upon us. Who will make the play offs... who will stay home.

ARE YOU READY FOR SOME FOOTBALL!
    Keep on Civin'

I honestly have a hard time following football now that my fantasy football season is over.

The Texans are playing their rivals though. That could be the last game I find time to watch until the super bowl.

I'm rooting for the Giants. But I still say Feely can do better than McNabb in the playoffs. I'll laugh my ass off when Philly loses their first playoff game.

Philly looked PRETTY GOOD in their first scoring drive.

The only things that have kept the Giants off the scoreboard so far are a bad decision after a long drive by Collins (leading to an INT in the end zone) and an INCREDIBLY STUPID holding call against Rosenthal which negated a touchdown. They're completely dictacting the pace of this game.

The only question is, can they keep doing so if they keep shooting themselves in the foot...

I can't believe Akers missed that field goal. I guess he's now 23 for 25 for shorter than 40 yards now

Gee, Imran, not only did the Giants win the game (and you have to admit it should not have been as close as it was) but they also ran up almost 500 YARDS of offense against "the NFL's best defense." Not a good start to the weekend for you, uh uh...

I still think Green Bay loses tomorrow even though they now have an in to steal home field from Philly.

Alright! Thank you Giants. When the Packers win tomorrow, they can go ahead and punch their Super Bowl tickets.

Lucky, lucky Giants. Akers should have made that chip shot FG, and Giants would have been going home.

That's ok... they still get a bye, and Green Bay will win on Monday Night to get Home Field.

The fact is, Imran, the Giants should have had the game put away long before it came down to that. They had two touchdowns wiped out by utter bull**** holding calls by the officials, and another by Kerry Collins' dumb decision after a 90+ yard drive. And even if the Giants had lost, New Orleans still would have had to win to send them home, which ain't no guarantee, since Brooks is hurting and the Carolina D is tough.

And Green Bay plays tomorrow afternoon, not Monday night, on the road (where they're beatable) in the same stadium that just saw the Giants get a well-deserved win and Shockey back up his Pro Bowl berth BIG TIME, against a Jets team that will not only be much more desperate for a win than them but are also far healthier. It's not a cakewalk by any means.

Haven't really followed football much, but I did watch the Eagles-Giants game. What a weird, weird game. I will say that if the Giants were lucky, so were the Eagles at times; and for Reismark, "shouldn't have been that close?" You're arguing that turnovers shouldn't ruin your day? It was quite a close game in spirit as well as number.

I can't comment on the Holding calls (it looks to me like they should be being called on half the plays, so I'm useless as an observer- it always looks like a penalty), but the interception by the Giants in OT was quite a questionable call. On the instant replay, it sure looked to me like the defender flagrantly grabbed the reciever's face mask, which should have been 15 yards right there since you can kill people that way. Then again, maybe his hand just got in front of the mask at the angle that the camera was at... oh well.

Therefore this is not a syllogism.
