I have always been rather fond of the Bank of China Tower.

WTC before 9/11. I actually liked it before it went away.

GePap, Isn't there something about the Flatiron building's construction that is unique? I seem to remember something I once read about it.

not that I know. It was supposed to replicate greek column- at its thinest the building is 6 feet wide.

Some people say it was the first NYC skyscrapper, but that is not true.

I'd just like to point out, for the sake of phallic bragging rights, that the CN Tower is much bigger than all those puny buildings. Why do you think attractive women flock to Toronto? (and no, it isn't to look at Tie Domi).

The CN tower is the tallest freestanding building, not the tallest building.

Plus, the CN tower is useless, its nothing but a needle with no purpose. It shouldn't count.

I do like CN Tower's glass floors. Fun

The one KingOfTheApes posted, that's some hotel in Dubai. I read in a travel magazine that it'd cost 50 USD to just look around in the lobby. Sheesh.

Perhaps that was it. What was the 1st NYC skyscraper?

I continue to think these big cubes were just ugly. I generally dislike skyscrapers, but all those featured in this thread are more interesting than the lame WTC.

Well, the black one in the opening post is uglier though. It looks like the HQ of Hell on Earth
