    Is love a weakness?

    Love can be used against you. People kidnap family members all the time for ransom. Now days in the U.S. they kidnap pets now. Or they claim to have your pet and force you to pay money to prevent the pet from being hurt.

    I can't help but think love is a weakness.

      Let's never love so that you never have to pay ransom.


      I would never pay ransom on my pets. If they wanted my dog so badly, they can have him.

      Of course, if they ever let him off his leash, he would try to find his way home.

      One-sided love is a weakness. Except for artists and poets. But to have love shared?

                        however, it's a weakness that i'm proud to have, because in exchange for opening yourself up to great vulnerability and hurt, the strength you can have returned far outweighs that.

                        in copenhagen, there's a great line:
                        "i was born a mathematical curiosity/not one, but half of two".
