  • Dina Ceroo investigates suspect 'accidents'...

Earlier in the week, two areas of Dina Ceroo (Ceroo City) which are supported on the plate over the sea suffered severe damage with small sections collapsing into the sea.

In the north, the Office of the UN Delegate and the HSBC bank were destroyed as a support pillar gave way collapsing the section of plate into the sea. Luckiliy it was 5:52 in the morning and there were no casualties.
In the port section to the east, another section of plate came loose causing structural damage to the CT (Ceroo Telecom) tower, parts of which crashed into the local KFC (Karakas Fried Chicken).

Catholic priest Georgi Morientes, commented that "it was the fault of the city council, man should not try to defy nature...". Fueling speculation that CETA, (once supported by Morientes) the fundamentalist religious seperatist group from Isla D'Ibia may be behind the incidents- and they they weren't actuallly accidents.

It is widely expected that severe disruptions in communications will continue for the short-term, with the CT tower being out-of-action.

The investigation into what actually happened is continuing, and the authorities are reminding people that it is safe to enter the commercial district and the port area of the city but as always, remain vigilant for any suspisious activity.

Behind the scenes, it is rumoured that First Minister Morgan will proceed with re-instating the Parliamentry summer holiday, despite the crisis overseas in Azan and Western Apolyton, and this trouble in Dina Ceroo.

[OOC: RL we had a lot of rain in a short time after a long dry period, washing away some of my hill and the phonelines, hence the inactivity in the past week and lack of UN thread update, etc].

Guardinia is sorry to hear this, but glad to hear nobody got hurt. If there is anything we can do, we hope the Cerooan government will let us know.

Unfortunately, due to pressing domestic problems, we can extend nothing but regret that an organisation would do this.

Amanda Pallister, Karakan Ambassador to Ceroo, had this to say:

The assessment of the embassy is that Ceroo is absolutely still safe for visitors. We believe the Cerooan authorities have the situation in hand, and we have the utmost confidence in them. As always, travellers should be vigilant and cautious, but no more than normal.
Everything changes, but nothing is truly lost.

            Promenade, San Antonio Bay

Georgi Morientes had just been released from the Police station after questionning. Of course, he had been cleared of all wrong doing, no more conections to CETA- at least that's what he told them.
A young man approached him, another street pedler perhaps?
            "Hola" said the man.
"Hola" replied Morientes, suprised that somebody in San An still bothered speaking the old language...
            "¿Como esta?"
"Bien" said Morientes, he was just about to ask who this young man was, and what was his business was when he noticed him holding a pistol, poorly concealed up his sleeve"
"¡Vamos!" he said, guestering towards an alleyway, leading up to the road.
Morientes knew who he was, and why he was here. CETA had come for him...

Statement from CETA, to: The Cerooan Government, and Council of San Antonio Bay
The government's plans to limit the autonomy of San Antonio Bay by removing the regional councils is unwise. The people of our nation deserve more freedom, not less. CETA strongly advises that Ceroo not only leaves the council in control of San Antonio Bay, but declares the teritory under it's control- (Isla d'Ibia and the Guarbiria peninsular of the mainland) completely independant. We have heard much specualtion that we were involved in sabotage of areas of Ceroo City- this is a fabrication, caused by the idiotic ramblings of Father Morientes, CETA only wishes freedom for our island and a return to moral decency by closing the late-night nightclubs and bars, and imposing laws as to dress code on the beaches- our island has been turned from a quiet Christian one, to a 'party island' full of debauchery and sin. We are attempting to do this through our political activism and lobbying of the council- not by random acts of terrorism. We will continue to campaign until our wishes are granted.
It is God's will that our people be free!
            -Benito Alaves, CETA

Al Mastif offers the use of one of the newly-created "Bucket Boys" CT teams.
Be aware that if you accept the offer, Al Mastif will accept no liablity for any collateral damage to Cerooan civilians caused by the aforementioned Counter-Terrorists.

Ceroo graciously declines the offer of the Al Mastifi CT team. There is no evidence of any terrorist activity on Cerooan soil, and we confident that if there were, Internal Security would be able to deal with it themselves.

[there's also the fact that Al Mastaf's 'advisors' and whatnot have a habit of exploding and taking parts of cities with them]

As recognition of the Al Mastifi gesture of goodwill, we are willing to donate a large shipment of 'happy festival' Cerooan 'fireworks' which we can send via Cerooan airfreight direct to your capital city should you wish to accept.

OOC: Not if Al Mastif can help it! Do you know how much a good AMIO agent costs?

IC: The Tooled-Up Sultanate of Al Mastif assures Ceroo that any such delivery would be perceived to be a grave insult, as today is... is... Religious Day, and we aren't allowed to get presents, because... because... Santa Claus is the Devil!
                  Yeah. That's it.
And... and... on Religious Day, all neighbouring countries/puppets have to give up their oil reserves to Al Mastifis, or... or... the Angelic Choir will spit on them!
