Offered open borders as per previous agreement. Sorry we forgot to send this earlier. Here was the open borders deal:
"Team Sarantium and Team Mercenary agree to exhange an Open Border Agreement for 20 turns for the express purposes of increasing trade between the teams. Both teams agree no units shall actually enter the other's border without prior written consent. This agreement may be extended at the end of this 20 turn duration if both teams agree to do so.
Violation of any other deals by either team will constitute a violation of this agreement as well."
Again - thanks for the copper. The deal went through just fine.
Trust the war is going well. We saw an archer heading in that direction. Can we request an exchange of another screen shot of the capitol and what is going on in return for a screen shot of their road effort and worker location between the two cities.
Regards ... Beta of Sarantium
replied: We're having a baby, send info via our team email till further notice.
Someone attend to this, please, I assume it's ok, but I'm off to the hospital NOW.

Hi folks. Probably Kloreep. UnO asked that I send this to the team email, given that they are busy at their household. (All the best to UnO and his wife!)
We will use this address for messaging until advised otherwise. Thx!
Open Borders and Info Exchange
Greetings UnO and Team Merc..
We sent the following with the save this turn:
Thanks for the copper.

Open borders should be fine, I believe that was already approved; I'll reply yes to that tonight unless anyone speaks up. Screenshot exchange - sounds good to me but, what do you all think?
To start with, congratulations to the titular head of Team merc and his esteemed wife, for the increase in world population. The Nation of Sarantium wishes health and all the best to those involved. And to everyone else for that matter.
Now to business. It has been a bit since we have heard from you. The last we spoke regarding tech trading, you had quoted:
quote:
The last tech proposal from you is thus:
Team Mercenary supplies:
Masonry 114
Sailing 143
and previous credit of 69
TOTAL 326
Sarantium supplies:
Horse Back Riding 357
IW research credit 12 (see below)
TOTAL 369
I haven't heard anything from the builders, so I'm just going to get this done.
Team Mercenary can agree to this plan with one provision:
Currently the Horde owes us 320 gold, and reclaimation of that is our objective in the current conflict. According to our standard pricing, 1 gold = 1 tech point. Should the Horde agree to fork over HBR as payment, we assume that's what they're working on, we would like to negotiate and get you guys researching something else, we'll supply you HBR as soon as we get it for an IOU (we wouldn't accept a no trade clause for this settlement) and credit you 100% of the tech points you had invested in HBR.
Not sure where you stand with the Horde on the settlement issue - but it would be good to know. We will finish Alphabet in 5 turns or thereabouts, so we need to know what to do about this next deal and HBR As per our earlier correspondence, we would like to continue with a second round of tech agreements. Please advise.
Can you also advise as to how the 'conflict' with the Hordians is progressing? We had provided intel in the lead up, and would like to know if you are pursuing the conflict or if you have reached agreement with the Hordian government.
Cheers and regards ...Beta of Sarantium.
Quick answer to all:
No deals have been made with the Horde.
The war has been focused on causing a nuisance and preventing growth down there while Sarantium and ourselves continue to expand. Constant threat of violence forces the Horde to carefully move and protect rather than freely expand.
If you can, could you tell me where the horde archer stack moved?

Unofficial again - you guys are right about the settlement agreement and where you plan to settle.
That's good, you'll find a city there when you open the save...
As you may have noticed, I played, so no longer need the archer info.
As for other stuff:
We should finish Metal Casting in 5 turns (after end turn) as well. We will begin masonry after.
As for the Horde: As we have stated all along, we are not in this for their destruction or removal. Just seeking fair compensation. We have offered them a number of payment options, but to date, none have been accepted. We will attempt to keep pressure on them, but feel it's in our best interest to continue expansion and defense plans in our area a top priority.
Congrats on Stonehenge, btw.

(sorry for the delay in getting back to you. I had this drafted last Sunday, and forgot all about it.)
UnO and Team Mercenary
Thanks for your recent reply. I gather you found out where their archers went to. Sorry for the delay in getting the info to you, being Saturday and all.
We are looking to confirm the next tech that Sarantium will research - with a view to the second round of tech trading. We are thinking of HBR. Would this work for you. Please advise.
Also, we would like to propose another deal. We can produce a workboat fairly soon in the City of Anhinga. This workboat would be of use to you immediately for the fish resource. We are proposing that we trade to you a workboat and a worker, in exchange for a settler. We will send the workboat over as soon as it is completed, and the trade will be finalized with the exchange of the worker and the settler, with some idea of the timing to be confirmed. Does this plan work for you? Please advise.
Thanks for the congrats on Stonehenge. Although we are very proud of it, this Buddhist-Druid thing is all a bit new.
Cheers...Beta of Sarantium

Sarantium had most likely started on a workboat counting on grabbing those fish and is looking for a way to save their hammers.
But that's a 90 hammer for 100 hammer deal, obviously not in our interest. Question is, would you guys want such a thing if they covered the other 10?
A switch to a settler in AB would delay a theoretical forge by only 2 turns, further, the workboat being worked in city 4 could then be used for exploration.
