Is that water to the east ocean or lake? If it is ocean it would appear that we are either on a peninsula or isthmus.

I seldom play Civ IV nowadays, not with the crazy working hours and business travels, but I don't recall seeing fish in Lakes ?

I do believe you make a good observation. Good place to begin circumnavigating the world from. Two caravels in opposite directions. Course I may be jumping the gun a bit...
