  • Treaty With GoW to Ensure Survival

By agreeing to this document, the Lux Invicta and Glory of War teams officially agree that:

    - The Glory of War team will offer a peace treaty and the city "Camp Cod" to the Lux Invicta team on the turn 1550 BC and will send the trade offer with a status of 'accepted'. The Lux Invicta team will also accept this deal on its 1550 BC turn, taking control of "Camp Cod."

    - Until the Glory of War team creates a new city (entitled "City #1" in this document), Lux Invicta will hold onto "Camp Cod," producing as many Warriors as possible during the time that the Lux Invicta team has control over "Camp Cod." These warriors will be moved onto unimproved grassland tiles within the Glory of War team's cultural area on the turn they are created. The Glory of War team is permitted to assume control over the Lux Invicta city "Fortress Felix" after "Camp Cod" has been given to the Lux Invicta team.

    - When City #1 is constructed by the Glory of War team, it will trade the city to Lux Invicta on that turn. The following turn, Lux Invicta will move all units out of Camp Cod and the Glory of War team will capture "Camp Cod" from the Lux Invicta team and subsequently offer peace after this trade has been accomplished.

    - During this period of time, the Lux Invicta team will have its science slider set at 0%. The Glory of War team will supply the Lux Invicta team of any technology it possesses, and is able to acquire during the duration of this contract's lifespan. When the Middle Age is reached, the Lux Invicta team will provide the technology "Monotheism" to the Glory of War team free of charge and with the status of "accepted".

    - The Lux Invicta team will then hold "City #1" for an undetermined period of time, until the quantity of 1 Settler, 1 Worker, 1 Spearman and 2 Galleys have been constructed in "City #1," and a Lux Invicta expedition has departed from the continent. Once the expedition has left, Lux Invicta will produce as many regular Warriors as possible in City 1 and move them to stand individually on surrounding grassland tiles.

    - Lux Invicta team will be considered a protectorate of the Glory of War team until their new city is established on the new continent. While a protectorate Lux Invicta is not allowed to conduct any binding treaties or negotiations with any other civs, all negotiations will be handled by the Glory of War team on Lux Invicta's behalf and Lux must post a notice of this status in the main PTW forum. During this time, the Glory of War team is obligated to defend the Lux Invicta team, its cities, units and resources from any form of aggression.

    - When the terms of this agreement have expired, the Glory of War team is permitted to recapture "City #1" from the Lux Invicta team, followed by a return to peace between the two teams after this exchange has taken place.

    - These terms, when agreed to by both teams, are furthermore non-negotiable, and both teams signing the document are obligated to carry out the terms by any means deemed necassary.

Uh-oh. Swordsmen next to Fortress Felix. Will this plan work?

The warriors are for them to increase the experience of their army. If it gets them to accept the treaty, then so be it. At least we'll survive.

With our settler, we can survive until GoW gives us their city on the following turn. We'll then be safe.

          Some questions:

          1) What happens if NDE captures Fortress Felix before we can give it to GoW? What are the defenses there and how many NDE swords are attacking it?

          2) Is it really better for us to accept a deal that will train the GoW army as opposed to just joining NDE. All the while we are not even sure we can get to Legoland's continent with galleys? What happens then?

Bottom line. We do not not even KNOW if this agreement can be fulfilled because of the swords and lack of landmass location info. The last line doesnt mean anything, as agreements can still be broken, especially when you know when the other party can't hurt you. I would rather join NDE than train GoW's army.

You can join NDE any time you like - either before this agreement or after it.

              Responses:

              1) We have 1 Spearman in Felix, and they have 1 Swordsman outside the city. That means it's anyone's guess as to what will happen. However, we have a settler, and it's still a bit outside of NDE's range, so GoW will be able to send us their city before we're destroyed. So if Felix is captured, we're not out yet.

              2) Legoland has said that they've seen what appears to be a passage, and are fairly certain that we can get over. Roleplay has told them the same thing. They finish a galley the next turn, so they'll be able to tell us for sure soon.

While I don't like the idea of training GoW's army either, it may be necassary to keep some kind of balance on this continent. I don't want NDE to overrun it if we are going to stay in the game independently.

A pity, but I got a response back from Panzer telling me that GoW will not go for the plan.

I did, however, talk a lot with BetaHound about doing the same with Vox instead of GoW, and he was highly receptive. He had some concerns as far as us giving a city to GS, but I think I convinced him of otherwise. I told him we would give them full compensation, and BH said that Vox has a city on the coast with wheat and fish that we could use in the meantime. I think working with Vox is a much better alternative than GoW, even if we take a little longer to reach Lego. We also don't have to train the GoW army, nor help them in any way, plus we don't have to sacrifice our honor 'officially proclaiming' our status as a protectorate.

The hooves of our Siphai will be heard and feared on the continent. May God have mercy upon our enemies, for we shallt have none.

I'm all for going with Vox rather than GoW.

We hope to convince Jon_Miller of this plan.

Things are being worked out fine.

Just sent a treaty candidate to Vox a few minutes ago, and await a reply. If they agree, then we'll get a city next turn, and we'll be set.
