    I note the absence of any rebuttal over an ACS Store in DanQ's clarification note (silence means consent! ) and the encouraging "...." in MarkG's post! We may get ACS t-shirts and coffee cups yet!

          OK, let's clarify some things here and now.

          1) Yes, Markos and I play games, Civ titles and otherwise. The amount of time that we get to play them is directly proportional to our workload, which is often quite heavy and thus limits free time to do so.

          <img src="/images/blue1.gif" width=100% height=1></font></td></tr></table></center>

          Not sure if I believe this. Mark often acts as if he hasn't a clue about the games and you never comment on them.

          <center><table width=80%><tr><td><font color=000080 face="Verdana" size=2><font size="1">quote:
          <img src="/images/blue1.gif" width=100% height=1>
          </font>

          When we decline to participate in a multiplayer game, it is not because we are snobbish or anything of the sort. We simply, unfortunately, are unable to make the time. We certainly never act as though we know "all there is to know" about any game that we cover or otherwise; in fact, anyone that claims to do so is more than likely being quite untruthful.

          <img src="/images/blue1.gif" width=100% height=1></font></td></tr></table></center>

          Make the time. We won't bite you (just beat you).

          <center><table width=80%><tr><td><font color=000080 face="Verdana" size=2><font size="1">quote:
          <img src="/images/blue1.gif" width=100% height=1>
          </font>

          2) Visitors to Apolyton will never have to pay to gain access to the site. This is something that we do not like to see on other sites, gaming or otherwise, and thus is something that we will not try to emulate. It is also a model that has proven to be more headache than relief and indeed often fails miserably.

          <img src="/images/blue1.gif" width=100% height=1></font></td></tr></table></center>

          Basically you couldn't live without your old friend horsie right?

            I only post here and play a few CtP PBEM games, and already I can't find time to play multiplayer games. Can you imagine the amount of time Markos and Dan have, having to constantly update the site AND moderate most of the forums?

              Phoenix, I know arse licking is compulsory in Singapore, but let's not internationalise the practice.

                Oh! Then you must play lots of games! Or perhaps you meant inversely propotional.

                  There are quite a few people here that work 50-60 workweeks and have families that add extensive obligations, who still make time to play.

                  It's all a matter of priorities.

                    Mark & Dan,
                    I think you should really consider creating a shop at Apolyton. One that could not only sell your own thingies, but some software. Recently I was in need of 3 Software titles, and if I could I'd buy them here. However, most of the shops will not anyway ship products outside US/Canada, so for me it's nonsense.
                    Or, perhaps consider a shop which would pay you % for the things they're buying trough you.
                    Anyway, I wouldn't mind buying something with Apolyton, assuming that 'something' would be of at least minimal use for me. For example, Civ III .

                    And, I forgot to mention: there's a good proof that MarkG plays, I mean his column, where he "merges" Civ III and CM. Hope you've all read it.
