I think the best "anti-missile tech" is called "Going medieval on their arses". Never, ever wait for others to act. Just look at how scared everyone is because of our activities against all factions. I think we should look like we are "sitting still" only while redeploying forces.

I am posting a proposal in the Council of War.

I think that if the defending unit is strong enough to stop a missile, it stops a PB too.

So, with elite AAA-probability CDF in an aerospace-tachyonfielded city with a sensor nearby, I think we should be safe (if no crawler is crawling in the range of shock).
It doesn't say we shouldn't get anti-missile techs, just that we don't really have to engage in a race to get them.

Then let's get n-space compression fast (a fleschette defense system) - n-space needs orbital (we have) and bio-machinery, which needs MMI (we have) and Retroviral (AMA and bio-engineering)

That's far more efficient than waiting for ODP's (n-space is a level-8 tech whereas self-aware machines is a level 11)

Note that prototyping a PB immediately prototypes every other subsequent weapon (even the 30 value string disrupter!!!!)

wow - I never knew that!!

So my fear that AU (or was it FS?) would drop from size 14 to size 7 won't materialize

Bases only starve when they have a nutrient shortage while they have no nuts at all in reserve. Running a 100-nut deficit while having one nut in reserve isn't a problem at all.

I downloaded the turn (2188 end) and had a look - it seems that in a few bases we'll lose population next turn (lots of specaialists - looks like we'll lose 3 in Vlad for instance)

Is it just a corrupt file I got, or is that indeed the latest turn?

Is it me or should we seriously ask for submission of the Angle's faction . We can even solidify that strategy by installing an "occupation" presence at the now cleared west coast of their territory (ie. dropcolony pods).

However a more concensus move would be to Bomb and then pull back like some of us suggested. I wouldn't be surprised though if the Angles still have an ace to pull. morgans sold planetbusters to Angles!!! (hehe I know we got em infiltrated but still the concept is there)

Furthermore, I think we need to review what our primary goals were for declaring Vendtta with the Angles in the first place. We've set the Angles back to the stone age thanks to their self-Destruction of 5(?) bases and I think this has achieved our goal of nullifying them as a threat to Spartan domination. A longterm commitment to this war now would seem impractical so shouldn't we contact them NOW while they are still scared and reeling from the morale hit?
Think about it, can you imagin how they feel right now after losing 5 bases in 1 turn at their own hands? Hell I'll bet if they might even surrender at this stage.

Of course I havent been around the earlier ACDG's to know if this is different so plz correct me if my impression is wrong.

PS. can anyone tell me what other pentalties are there besides the UN sanctions when you obliterate your own bases? (ie. -planet, -commerence, +drones)?

I'll retreat the SNC Heimdall to Defiance Freehold in that case.

I say we bomb whatever is possible, and leave it at that for now. A proper invasion would require longer range for planes and/or more land units and/or stronger land units, in my opinion.

I'm not so sure ... If they get fusion next year, they can build defenses to knock us out of the sky. Until we can get fusion ourselves, I think we'll have to cease our military operations.

I'm wondering if people agree to this. A rather important decision I think.
