I can't - I'm not allowed to edit posts. DBTS can, of course, as it was his post.

Yes, I did ask DBTS to amend it. Can he (or GT if you have enough mod powers) amend it now?

Well, it would seem then that DBTS didn't apply that amendment to the constitution. Naughty, naughty

I think thats the best thing to do : discuss it for a while, then do three polls for which psych rate will represent each energy allocation.

    The Drogue Amendment
All polls to change social engineering settings should be in this format:

    Poll:
    *Single choice
*Only names options (Must include current setting)
    *Abstain option (Or Xenobanana)
    *Write-in-option
    *Open 3 days minimum

    First post:
*Further explanation of question (if needed)
    *Only names options
    *Link to discussion thread
    *Expire date.

If this poll gives a clear majority (50+%) to one option, then that option is put into place. If not then there is to be a ‘head to head’ poll in this format:

    Poll:
*Name the two highest scoring options from above poll (if two are equal second, the Director of Social Engineering can choose which one goes through)
    *Abstain option (Or Xenobanana)
    *Write-in-option
    *Open 3 days minimum

    First post:
*Further explanation of question (if needed)
    *Only names options
    *Link to discussion thread
    *Expire date.

Discussion thread beforehand. We go through each SE choice and decide on possible combinations. Hopefully only psych will need to be discussed there, as science and energy are really different matters.
Then poll on the different nominated combinations.

    Could this work?

Apparently an amendment was made to that effect... could someone post a link to that, as I can't find it in the Constitution thread? More to the point, could someone point me at any other amendments/rules/such that aren't in the Constitution thread (or the other stickies)? I really don't have time to read through all 7 pages of this forum

And if multiple-choice polls are out, my proposal could be done with 4 seperate polls (ie seperate threads), I realize this would be kinda cumbersome, but if it'd work...

Btw, how often are there supposed to be polls for SE choices? Every turnchat? Every other one?

Anyway, we still have plenty of time till the next poll, since we probably wont discover Green before 25/01 IMHO.
Yes, we will. We'll be discovering it in 5 turns, and the turnchat will go for 7.

Anyway, I don't see what's wrong with Cedayon's proposal; nowhere in the constitution does it prohibit the DoSE from posting multiple choice polls.

Indeed, the best way would be to have all differents Economics and all different energy allocation for each economic choice, poll it, and make a final with the runners up.

I'm not sure it's the best to poll choices first, sliders then. What if I advocate Green but only with 40/0/60, otherwise I would vote for, let's say, Planned?

Cedayon's idea is actually the best, but it is unconstituional, since there cannot be a multiple option enable in a DoSE poll -- cf Drogue's amendment.

Anyway, we still have plenty of time till the next poll, since we probably wont discover Green before 25/01 IMHO.

I think Drogue's idea is still the more democratic, cause every citizen should be able to vote for the psych ratio, even those who dont support the economic system that results of the poll, not only those who support the winning economic system.
We could be as democratic as Drogue's system with Archaic's system, though we'd have to hold 4 elections instead of two.

AFAIK it's only 2 days and some hours to the next turn chat, so there wouldn't be time for 2 polls (Econ choice first, then e/p/l ratio). As such I think it should be done all in one. Perhaps it could be a multi-part poll:

    1) FM
    1) Planned
    1) Green (when we get the tech, or should this be an option at this point?)
    2) If FM: 50/0/50
    2) If FM: 40/20/40
    3) If Planned: 50/0/50
    3) If Planned: (some other option)
    4) If Green: 50/0/50
    4) If Green: (some other option)

Including write-in and Xenobanana votes could make for a very large poll, but I suppose it could be split into seperate threads if necessary.

It would be better, however, if we could do as Archaic suggests and decide beforehand which ratio would be used for which econ choice. 40/20/40, for example, seems to be the only seriously advocated way of running an FM.

    to archaic's idea (don't kill me )

How many psych/eco/lab settings are really acceptable?

FM 50/0/50 is almost impossible with all the drone riots, right?
And other extremes like 80/0/20 will have penalties.

We could use this thread to decide on rates.
