Yep, Oblivion is one of my break game as well. It has a bunch of problems, but I think I was about 50 hours into the game before really noticing any. And, as always, with some plugins it's only better.

There were very serious improvements to the AI economy in Warlords 2.08 patch. I pretty much had the same transition, I could almost always win on Prince, much of the time comfortably so, but not post-patch. And then there's Blake's mod.

Elf? Pffft, it's all about Bretons .

Well, there's nothing like going back to an old favorite. My Civ break game right now is Baldur's Gate 2. Though Civ has always been the mainstay.

Haha, it's a good feeling about being one of the best civvers in a small circle . I know that, as a player, I don't hold a candle to many of the experienced and skilled ones here - I'm pretty much what you would call an average player in terms of skills (which has its advantages, too, actually). But in a certain small circle I can be the Civ strategy expert!

Thinking about burnouts, I remember that there are series I do come back to and games I don't come back to. I played Age of Empires 2 actively for over a year. Then I played it and the Age of Mythology sequel on-and-off for about another year and a half. But eventually, I stopped and I haven't come back since. Civ is the only series which I have been playing for a long time, and still always come back to. Elder Scrolls can become a second such series for me. But, I only started in 2003 with it, so I'll need to see if I'm still coming back in 2-3 years.

And of course, AAHZ, thanks for all the nice comments about Apolyton. While we've had days with more activity, we always try to maintain a good environment in here .

Well, I gladly consider myself to be by far the best Civ player in my house .

Apolyton, to me, is a great BIG circle, and we all share one thing in common, at least most of us... civ
Small circles are great! Since I started playing, my little brother, my best friend and my wife have all started playing Civ.
