DirectX end-user (Dec 2005) full download

Well, a long time ago I had run across what appeared to be an update to DirectX. However afterwards I couldn't find it again. Today I stumble across a Microsoft download site which appears to host the captioned DirectX file. There are also other files that might be of interest to Windows users.
