Theocracy comes in handy, too. Don't have access to the game right now and can't remember all the details for Theocracy, but just being able to stop religious conversion in your cities may not help you, but may possibly hurt another player.

So, if you were me, what would you stick with?
Or just switch to the newest one once i get it?
Is the +10% research in all cities that big of a deal?
Personally, I prefer to combine Pacifism (+100% GP growth) with Representation (+3 beakers per GP). In the early to mid game GPs are still cheap enough that several cities can produce GPs so since you're using specialists anyway to produce GPs you're getting the extra bonus of having them generate a huge amount of research.

In the late game when you've cranked out a bunch of GPs they start getting really expensive. Because of that Pacifism starts becoming less useful because it's really only giving it's boost to your top 3 or 4 "GP builder/specialist cities". Your population also starts getting to the point where you need the happyness boost from Free Religion to keep growing.
