I have to admit, I have had fewer crashes in windowed mode than full screen mode. Don't know why, but it's true.
I had all sorts of disasters the first day I had the game. Then I switched to window mode and ran a little dicey and laggy but without crashing for two days. Switched to full screen, and later that day BAM - two blue screen reboots. Back to windowed mode - and it's been running okay.
I wonder if anyone else with lots of problems has tried this. Also, I remember reading that most of the beta testers were testing using windowed mode - which begs two questions...
1) Is that why we're seeing so many crashes now as opposed to pre-release where they could be fixed?
2) What in the heck kind of beta program has players using the mode that most buyers of the game WON'T be using and in fact don't have the option to do without game file editing?
Anyways, if you are getting lots of crashes - try the windowed mode and see if it works any better.
