I'm not saying it's complex, I'm saying it's not user friendly. It takes WAY too much time for one thing.

There's just too much red tape for it to be as effective as it could have been.

You'll probably hate Civ4 then. You can do more but it won't be easier than Civ3.

I don't see how. I find it very easy and quick to use.

Goodness, you folks just want to ride me into the ground!

Example: Say I want to change the leaderheads for a faction to those of a different faction. I can't choose from a menu. I have to look it up, then type it in myself. It's things like that that bother me.

Anyway, this thread is about civs. I didn't start it so I could argue about the editor.

But you can't change the leaderheads in C2, IIRC - or if you can, you have to follow the same procedure.

So anyway, here's my Civ theory.

              Civ4:
              Americans
              Arabs
              Aztecs
              Babylonians
              Chinese
              Egyptians
              English
              French
              Germans
              Greeks
              Indians
              Japanese
              Malinese
              Mongols
              Persians
              Romans
              Russians
              Spanish

              Expansion 1:
              Assyrians
              Carthaginians
              Celts
              Incans
              Koreans
              Mayans
              Turks
              Vikings

              Expansion 2:
              Byzantines
              Dutch
              Hebrews
              Hittites
              Portuguese
              Polish
              Sumerians
Zulus (heaven forbid) or a Native North American Civ.

I think the Zulu and Iroquois will be in the first release, instead of the Arabs and Mongols.

Oh, Mongolia is a civ we know is in. So maybe Spain gets edged out.

Out of the old initial list (see the first page of this thread), I think the Incans are the most likely to be dropped.

How about the 'americans' become a generic civ for the old natives in northern america? To represent the semi-nomadic tribes there? Blasphemy?

No, just impossible. It's not going to happen.

Out of all the civs, America is perhaps the only one that will ALWAYS be in when a new Civ game comes out. Ironic, don't you think?

I also think it's untrue. Among those that will never be left out:

                              America
                              Greece
                              Rome
                              Egypt
                              Babylon
                              Persia
                              England
                              France
                              Germany
                              Russia
                              China
                              Japan
                              India

I think your list is about right except that I think the Zulus are in and Spain is out. ??

Maybe the "just the facts m'am" thread has definite information?
