This package (version 0.1 from 31 may 2000) contains:

adv_term.exe
adv_term.cpp (c++ source code for interested programmers only)

adv_term.exe is a MSDOS executable written for Microposes Civilization 2 game.
Applied on a saved game file, it removes completely all already discovered
tech advances from all civs. You can say all the civs are resetted to the stone age ;)
The reason why I wrote it is a kind of "bug" in the multiplayer version of civ2:
Everytime when an internet multiplayer game is started, only the host gets free
tech advances but not the withplayer. So this program helps to balance the game by
removing the host techs before game begins.
Up to now, I have tested it for *.sav and *.net save files, but it should work on any
Civ2 saved game file as well.

Installation:

1. Copy adv_term.exe into your main civ2 Folder (or the folder which is containing your
   saved games)
2. If you like, make a desktop link to this program

Usage when starting a new multiplayer game as the host:

1. Start the game with all players in
2. If you have free tech advances, save the game file
3. Let all other players retire from the game
4. Start adv_term.exe (it will popup in a MSDOS window)
5. Type in the file name of the save (Don't forget the extension, in general ".net")
6. The program will process the file and modify it by removing all tech advances
7. Reload the game

If you just want to modify any saved game file, just make a Backup of your game file, then
follow steps 4. - 7.

Important: the saved game needs to be in the same folder like adv_term.exe
Don't use this program for any other files than saved civ2 game files, otherwise those
files may be destroyed!!!
