Bonjour, hello, hi, Guten Tag, buenos dias, bongiorno and so on...

This is a Version 1.0 of my map of France." LDFranceV1.0" no recognize from probably
future ones.

The author
I am French, though not living in France, so since I know my native country quite well,
I wanted to share this knowledge by creating a map for Civ III.

+ and -
(+)
It is quite realistic for the part concerning France (geo + ressources) in the medium
to late middle-ages.
I will definitely improve my knowledge of ressources of neighboring countries as well
as of salpeter and gold in France.
It is playable though difficult for some starting locations and there are only
one aluminium and one uranium (seems geographically correct). There is no rubber.
Since ressources are definitely not equally widespread, you should focus early on trade
(roads are built already).

(-)
But you might quickly see a sort of contraction line in the middle of France (West-East).
Two reasons :
- it is a mistake while translating the figures
- it was partly intended (not so much though) for along that West-East line lands
are poor: mountains, hills.
This is not a flat world. If anybody knows how to do it, ...

Special features
Lot of forests at that time : modern would be different.
Luxuries seem to be focused on Genova (Italy) and Holland. This is aimed at
representing the trade power they had for oversas luxuries.
Silk was imported to France, though quite later and produced in the Lyons area.

Aim :
The big issue here is that this map is intended to become a scenario base for medium-late
middle-ages rather than as traditionnal CivIII map. When the scenario editor works it
should be a 100 years war scenario
I plan to develop four maps of France altogether
- one for the Roman Empire - Early middle-Ages
- one for late medium to late middle-Ages (100 years war)
- ome for the XVIIth century (this one)
- one for the late XIXth and first half XXth century

They will include ressources and roads / railroads as well as cities if possible.
There should more modpacks than maps since they will include special luxuries, special
Wonders and special "tribes". And different scenarii as well.

Since we cannot develop the scenario now, I give it to the ones who want to play on a
French map anyway and to get some feedback to improve and prepare the future entire set
(or to cancel if nobody is interested).

I hope to read your comments on the forums to know if and in what direction I should
carry on.

Regards and enjoy !
