Thanks
------
Many thanks go to
- Mathemagician for the OFT (One Free Tech) idea,
- J Bytheway for the basic idea of how to implement this and
- Grandpa Troll for "Why not make it multiple techs".

What is it?
-----------
The "Multiple Free Techs" scenario pack is a scenario pack for CtP
(Civilization Call to Power), version 1.2 or higher.

What is it for?
---------------
In this scenario every human player gets some free techs, which
can be chosen freely from all available techs (advances). The
first human player can select how many free techs shall be granted
(1, 2, 3 or 5) and the turn for this to happen (1st, 2nd, 3rd or
7th turn). Optionally a period of 5, 10, 15 or 25 turns can be
selected, so each player can decide individually, when she wants
to get the free techs.

Additionally there are two new kinds of messages included: A
warning, if a unit was bombarded and a notification for city
growth. Each player can decide at the 1st turn, if she wants to
receive these messages. The decision can be revised later on by
hitting the "m" key, which brings back the enable/disable message
box.

There is also an option to add a warrior to the first city each
player builds. This can be configured by the first human player,
too.

Installation
------------
Simply unzip "MFT_v10.zip" to the "scenarios" folder (which is a
sub-folder of the directory where you installed CtP) preserving
the folder hierarchy inside the zip-file. After unzipping you
should find the following in your CtP install directory:

<CtP install dir>
   scenarios
      MFT
         packicon.tga
         packlist.txt
         readme.txt (this file)
         scen0000
            scenario.txt
            scenicon.tga
            default
               gamedata
                  mft_slic.slc
                  scenario.slc

Usage
-----
When doing the setup for a new game, hit the "Select Scenario"
button in the setup screen. In the "Scenario Picker" dialog select
(by clicking the image) "MFT - Multiple Free Techs" and hit "OK".
Repeat the procedure in the dialog that follows. Now the setup
screen should show "Scenario: MFT - Multiple Free Techs" right
under the "Standard Game" button (which was the "Select Scenario"
button before). Launch the game when you are done with the setup
screen. Notice the message icons on the left, which open the
configuration dialogs when clicked. Hint: You can't finish the
turn before the required settings were made. At the specified turn
or during the specified period the players will find icons on the
left side of the screen, that will allow them to choose their free
techs. Important note: Don't pick the same tech twice or a tech
that you already have! This will count as a granted tech without
a warning.
