I used Joncha's rules, explicitly, and worked with him to develop the spreadsheet. It indeed assumes setter points, which were not initially counted as I understand, but seem to have been retroactively granted; certainly my count is close enough, anyhow, to any given count to discount this possible reason, unless a single word or two were not counted (505 total points, as opposed to 504).

For those interested I can post the spreadsheet which aided me in my recounts. The methods I employed are:

Preparatory activities for both recounts:
I copied the list of words and pasted it to one column of an excel spreadsheet. Next, I went through the cells and removed all words and all dashes leaving only names and various symbols (..., ...*, ...^(name)). Here I used two methods to make sure my recount was right.

1) I copied the column containing only names and special symbols to another column. Then I sorted the column alphabetically. This assured all names would be grouped. For each name I assigned a corresponding number (Zopperoni got number 1, alva got number 36). Then I filled the column next to the sorted column containing names with the corresponding numbers. This was simply a device to help me in my counting of the total for each player. These totals represented the points for word guessers. After these points were tallied, I returned to the original, unsorted column and manually counted the word setter points.

2) Having done all this, I proceeded to the second recount. I copied the first column to the third column and now, instead of sorting it, I went through the column and replaced each occurrence of the symbol ... with the name appearing in the list previously to the symbol, each occurrence of name* with an empty space and each occurrence of ...(name)^ with name. Then I sorted the list and applied the same helping device used in the first method (different numbers assigned to different names). The list so prepared would tally both word setter and word guesser points. When I compared the two tallies, they matched

Btw (and I know I'm going to get stick for this, but I'm going to say it anyway) I think it is highly against the spirit of the game for 2 players to warn each other (either by PM or on another site) that they are about to update, so they can share the words between them. Yes (as I'm sure I'm about to be told) there is no rule against it, but it's clearly not fair to the playerbase.

You know who you are - I've been watching this happen for a while now. Please don't deny it or make lame excuses.......if you think the practice is acceptable just argue your case.
