	Congsnd1 folder
	Congsnd2 folder

INSTALATION:

NOTE: You need Civ 2 Fantastic Worlds for this scenario to work properly.

All but the wav. files remain inside the CONGO! folder. Creat a new folder
called Sound. Put the wav. files from both the Congsnd1 and Congsnd2 inside the Sound folder.
Put the Sound folder inside the CONGO! folder. Now move the CONGO! folder
into your scenario directory. Start Civ2 and play. Select CONGO!(c).scn to play the Congo,
Angola or Zimbabwe. Select CONGO!(r).scn to play Rwanda or Uganda. The other civilizations
(South Africa and the Neutral States) are not for play.

IMPORTANT: There are two events texts which are slightly different. Somehow the game remembers which is which. Be sure to put them both in the scenario folder. If you have a problem,
e-mail me and I will try to help.

DESIGNERS NOTES:

On August 2, 1998 the new government of Congo faced a Tutsi-led rebellion in its eastern regions, supported by its former ally, tiny but strong Rwanda. Uganda in turn, backed Rwanda.
Congo was not short of allies itself. Militarily powerful Angola was (and is) still battling its own rebels, called UNITA, who are cooperating with the Tutsi and Rwandan forces. Zimbabwe,
resentfull of South Africa's prestige, seeks to assert its own power.

South Africa adopted a statesmanlike approach, but under pressure from other
southern African countries, may intervene if the situation deteriorates too far.
Other nations try to remain neutral. Attacks on them may provoke British or French intervention.
Meanwhile, Hutu death squads continue to operate between Congo and Rwanda.

Congo -retain control of the entire country.
Angola and Zimbabwe -win if Congo wins.
Rwanda -gain control of Congo territory.
   Uganda -win if Rwanda wins.
South Africa and Neutral States -not for play.

If you want to play Congo, Angola or Zimbabwe, use scenario Congo(C).
If you want to play Rwanda or Uganda, use scenario Congo(R).

SOUNDS: The sounds are regular Civ2 sounds except for the "begin" sound which plays at the start of each turn. It originaly ran for two and a half minutes, but that made for an enormous sound file. So, I cut it to one quarter size. (It still makes for a very large zip. file) If you want to restore it to its full length of two and a half minutes, use your Windows sound recorder to double it (twice). If you don't have that program on your system, you can download several good shareware programs such as Goldwave. It is supposed to deepen the African atmosphere of the scenario. If after a while you find it annoying, just relable it "abegin" or something and it won't play.

UNITS: The armoured units, including the SP howizer, Armoured Car and APC units, the British SAS and French Foriegn Legion, plus the Harrier, Tornado, Mirage5-50E and Apache helicopter were taken from Micheal Nielsen's Gulf War scenario and repainted for jungle operations. Many of the infantry units are from Harlan Thompson's WWII-Europe scenario. The rest of the air units, the base units and the steamer and riverboat are my own.

All wonders that can be built already are. They are:
