Readme File for the "Fortress" scenario v1.1 by jim panse a.k.a. Stephan Sander

May/June 2003

1. Credits

- Graphics - Captain Nemo, Alex the Magnificient, Field Marshall Klesh, GukGuk;
some graphics were modified by myself.

- Help with the Events.txt - Thank you Palaiologos, without your help this scenario would not be ready yet ;-)

- Sorry folks, no title.gif. I tried but Civ2 always crashed. Again, sorry.

- I want to thank also my playtesters (FiGu, ciferalmasy and Palaiologos) for their opinions on the scenario. I also want to thank Dr Kellogg for telling me that Ive used the partisan slot for the "Karl" artillery. Stupid beginner mistake :-).

- You may use all the graphics of this scenario as long as you credit their respective creators.

nemo = Captain Nemo
ALEX - Alex the Magnificient
GG = GukGuk
FMK = Field Marshall Klesh
StS = jim panse (my self)

2. Gameplay & known bugs

- Some of my playtesters found it really hard to conquer the Fortress because of the respawning units. Thats fixed now. One last advice: Try to capture the Industrial Park in the South-west of Sevastopol quickly. There is a tank factory and you can be sure that this factory is working ......

- You may play this either as a Single Player game or a Multiplayer/PBEM game though I have to confess to havent tried this scenario 1 on 1 against a human player.

- Reinforcements will arriva only vie the events file or after capturing cities. The Germans appear in much lower numbers than their enemies but their units are a bit stronger than some of their soviet enemies. So dont waste your troops and try to avoid huge losses.

3. The 3 last things I want to mention

- Please report any other bugs, opinions or something else you want to tell me to me (steph_sander@hotmail.com).

- The playtesters may notice that the unit graphics have changed from the playtest version to this release version (1.1).

- If there is interest (and I have time; maybe in the summer holidays) I will do some minor graphical adjustments/updates.

Thats all for now, folks. All I can say more is: Enjoy the scenario!
