Southamerica is on the brink of disaster
%
The entire continent is experiencing difficult times marked by economic instability
and political turmoil.
Almost everywhere, the free market policies designed and impelled by the "Consenso
de Washington" during the 90s have miserably failed over and over again.
The reappearance of nearly fascists governments in Venezuela; riots and economic
chaos in Argentina; electoral success of "new" left-wing alternatives to the
neo-capitalist system in Brazil... all of them are proofs of the crisis
Southamerica is trying to rebuilt its identity... the 90s passed from being the
"hopeful decade" to a new "lost decade"
%
Nevertheless, nobody have ever imagined that the rising tides of discontent would
ever reach a no return point...
%
Last may, president of Colombia, Alvaro Uribe, accussed president Chavez of ignoring
the FARC and ELC guerrillas problem in the area. Moreover, he even suggested that
venezuelan troops may have been protecting and secretely training terrorists in
camps located deep in the venezuelan jungle.
Sick and tired of their lack of cooperation, Uribe, supported by the White House,
authorized air strikes against FARC camps in Venezuela without asking first for
Chavez approval.
%
Unexpectedly, Chavez managed to make a profit of the situation. He saw this conflict
as an unique chance to stem the tide of discontent spreading throughout the country
and unite the venezuelan people against a common enemy.
As a result, Chavez accuses Colombia of violating venezuelan sovereignity and
expresses that only the unfold of a new "Bolivarian Patriotic War" will put an end
to the conflict.
%
News of this confrontation spread all over the continent inmediatly... and many
southamerican goverments, even the United States, were forced to make a decision...
%
Some people consider this conflict as a new "Southamerican Indendence War" from
the European and USA rule; othe people see it as a chance to "eliminate the recent
appearance of new rigth and left wings regimes and rebuilt latinamerican democracies"

Its time to choose your side...
