^"And one fine day, I reckon, we'll have friends in Europe, too, friends who'll help
us get back what's rightfully ours and what you've taken away."
^^--Abraham Lincoln
^
^It is August 1914. The tensions of the July Crisis over the assassination of Archduke
Franz Ferdinand in Sarajevo by Serbian nationalists have exploded into full scale war
on the European continent. The war rapidly spread to America, where old hatreds and
desires for revenge fuel the Great War's American front.
^
^The nations of the Central Powers - Germany, Austria-Hungary, and the United States
- now face off against the nations of the Quadruple Entente - Great Britain, France,
Russia, and the Confederate States of America. The goal for both factions is absolute
victory. For Germany this comes in the form of European hegemony. For the United States,
it means the destruction and conquest of the Confederate States of America and the
restoration of the American union. For the Entente powers, victory comes through survival
and the expulsion of the Central Powers from their ill-gotten gains.
